Drug Safety: On the weekends, the bars are full and parties are going on. They usually include alcohol. However, there are other options.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some dorms are newer than others. Two people share a room and have a community bathroom in the older dorms. Some newer dorms students have their own rooms and share a bathroom with just one other person.

Guys & Girls: It is usually easy to distinguish the Greeks from the rest of the students. Their dress is similar.

Overall Experience: I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the University of Alabama. It has been a wonderful experience. I have made many new friends and lots of memories. Roll Tide!

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I am disappointed that higher than a 4.0 does not earn a scholarship at Alabama. Many scholarships are solely based on ACT score.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: The is vast diversity in race and ethnicity on campus. We have many international students.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: It may be hard to get use to for the non-Alabamians. Alabama weather changes very frequently. One day it can be cold and rainy, the next day sunny and 75 degrees. I like Alabama weather.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe most of the time. But I am girl so I do not like being anywhere at night by myself. Campus is lit up for the most part. When I am in groups at night, I feel safe.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Alabama football is the best! The student section is always full and lively on game days. Tailgating on the Quad. Tuscaloosa is the place to be on Saturdays in the Fall.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are lots of options all varying in price. Many are very close to campus.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
