Diversity: The Diversity of campus at the University of Alabama is mostly white, but Alabama does want to get more diverse. There are many transfer students from all over the world and from that many students are interested in doing over sea studies.

Guys & Girls: Fine Women – The vast majority of the girls that I've seen in my two years at the University of Alabama have been incredibly attractive. This is especially true in the warmer months, when booty shorts rule the campus.

Facilities: Student Recreation Center – The Student Recreation Center, which nearly all refer to as the Rec, provides an excellent opportunity to get a good workout, play intramural sports, or just lay out by the pool in the warmer months.

Off-Campus Dining: The Strip – If you eat off campus at the University of Alabama, the Strip, which is adjacent to the west side of campus, has a wide variety of food choices. Most of it is excellent quality and low prices. I highly recommend Surin if you enjoy Thai food

Health & Safety: Safe as Safe Can Be – While on the campus of the University of Alabama, I have never felt unsafe. The entirety of campus is well-lit, plus the campus police has emergency lines throughout.

Academics: Political Science – I was lucky, and always knew exactly what I wanted to go to college for. The University of Alabama has, hands down, one of the best political science programs in the country. The professors are excellent; not only are they great instructors, but they remain objective so you can form your own opinions. In this program, the opportunities you receive are astronomical.

Overall Experience: My Experience – Even though I have experienced some draw backs here at the University of Alabama, I can honestly say that coming to UA is one of the best decision I've made about my life. I wouldn't change any of my experiences good or bad because I think it helped mold me into the person I have become today. I've been a major path maker and cultural awareness advocate with helping to start, now, UA's largest multicultural sorority, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. and the friends and sisters I have gained in the process have been wonderful. I love each and everyone of them and they have made my college experiences amazing.

I also am very aware of the "party" repetition we have and yes people on this campus do know how to party, but despite all that you can still be very successful academically. You just have to find the right balance between fun and work and anybody will do fine.

Last but not least, there is nothing like Alabama football. gamedays are amazing and tailgating on the quad is an experience like no other.

Campus Dining: Bama Dining – The places on campus are good. They've tried to add some new things The only problem is the price of the food. It's pricey. If the university is trying to help student they don't need to be charging an arm and a leg for it. However, I don't really eat on campus too much anymore because I'm always over in the new Nursing building which is on the outsides perimeters of the campus.

Athletics: Roll Tide – Roll Tide is defined as a rally chant for University of Alabama athletics, especially football. It comes from the Alabama football players running on the field in their crimson jerseys, looking like a sea of crimson. From football, to gymnastics, basketball, soccer and many kinds of sports which can be always seen in the campus, I think it is one of the reasons we students want to be here. The achievements of these parts are absolutely countless in conference championships and individual. All students in University of Alabama are crazy on the football season and explode their passion for the team. It can't be described by words simply, but I really want to say that the athletics in University of Alabama are awesome. Roll Tide Roll!

Weather: Seasons Change – We have four seasons in Alabama, but if you want snow do not come here. It does get cold, but rarely snows

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Honors Dorms Are Great – The Honors Dorms cost a little extra but you get your own room and you still have a living room and small kitchen. The dorms are close to classes as well

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Bama Fever – Tuscaloosa is a college town with a rich tradition of loving its Football. Alabama means Crimson Tide football and game days are incredible at the capstone.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: People are drinking all the time and most of the time they are underage.

Nightlife: There are tons of places to go when you want to go out and have a good time.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Convenient Food – There are many places to go and we recieve lots of discounts for being UA students.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Dorm Life – As a freshman you are required to live on campus. All of the dorms are in pretty good locations and the social atmosphere is great no matter what dorm you choose. The cost is a little expensive, so many choose to live off-campus after their freshman year. If you're willing to pay extra, definitely stay in Ridgecrest, Lakeside, or Riverside. These are apartment-style dorms and you have your own private bedroom. If you need a cheaper, traditional option, pick Mary Burke Hall. It is coed, the staff is great and there is a dining hall in the building - super convenient! If you are a female your worst option is probably Tutwiler. 14 floors of girls is not ideal, and you all share bathrooms. For guys, Paty should be your last option. The housing selection process is really simple.

Parking: Ticketing Is Crazyyy. Don't ever park in the Coldstone parking lot after 11pm. You will get a boot on your car that costs $50 to take off..and the price goes up to $100 if you don't get it off before 6AM. It's ridiculous.

There's a variety of parking locations around campus, but you have to have the correct permit for it..parking is crazy here.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Pretty Laid Back. The University has rules but UAPD is pretty lenient about most accidents.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Laid Back/Typical College Scene – The girls and guys at Alabama are your typical college kids. We love to go out at night and roll out of bed the next morning just to go to class then come back to our rooms and nap. We have a great social life here at Alabama. There's almost always something going on on campus. You're never bored. It's a great campus and the people are nice.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The campus life is wonderful, the university has something almost everyday going on. From movies on the quad to laser tag at the rec. Academics are awesome and so is teh social theme the university even has shuttles the the strip ans downtown after hours.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Wonderful Experience – Sports at The University of Alabama are great!! The football team is the reigning National Champions and the gymnastics is great also. The environment of the games are wonderful, student involvement at the games are great the teams love the interaction and you cn also win alot of prizes for joining in. The football stadium just got another part added on for more seats and the coliseum is huge! the Rec center is the place to go for intermural sports they have any and everything you need to get started.

Health & Safety: Great Security – The University of Alabama has a very safe campus! The security was one of the reasons my mother approved of the campus. The campus police is available 24/7 and there are phones that automatically dial the campus police when it is picked up. The phones are placed about 2ft from each other.

Diversity: There are people of many different races and religions at UA, but they comprise a negligible percentage of the student body. Most people here are white, and as a consequence, we have a reputation for being a school full of ignorant rednecks.

Off-Campus Housing: Alabama has plenty of houses and apartments right next to campus. Many of my friends live close enough to walk onto campus everyday. Pricing is good as well, even so some of the houses are a tad old.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Not Only the Football – Many people having a prejudice on UA, cause they believed the crazy football is the only topic in Tuscaloosa.
However, after I finished my freshman year, then I realize its not all as they said.
Actually, UA has a good environment and outstanding infrastructure to help students to pursue their academic records.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
