Athletics: Sports is not really a forte of this school. athletic facilities are minimal and small.

4 Recent Alumnus

Weather: Rain would usually cause some flooding in nearby areas. But weather is normally warm and sunny.

4 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: People would usually go to all the nearby clubs.

Majors: The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering was a very hard program which required a lot of dedication from the student. Thankfully, professors were very accessible and helpful during the whole program.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Great program and great professors.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Everything was okay, as long as you comply with deadlines. After deadlines the loan process could take longer.

3 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: Bank and offices area. Various establishments near the school.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: Very strict with it's rules and regulations.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Not too much variety, but good quality.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: Only one cafeteria on campus. Various food establishments next to the campus, where Slice is, which is really good.

4 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: School always had security on campus and notices were given to students of thefts around the area for awareness.

Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: There is no housing of the school. Apartments for rent specially design for students are available around the area.

4 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: The campus has a multilevel parking which you have to pay every trimester to gain access. The train and bus stop is very close and most of the apartments for housing are at walking distance.

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: Like every other school. Large variety of people.

Computers: Computers provided by school (in computer labs) are well equipped with the adequate engineering software, which is good because you are not required to buy a notebook or engineering software to complete class assignments. Printing is easy, not free, but not expensive either. Network availability and speed was reasonable, not the best or fastest, but good.

Off-Campus Housing: The University is located in an urban area and there a lot of houses which are mostly available for rent by students but they can be quite expensive and parking is very limited.

1 College Senior

Health & Safety: They have a poor, small health center. I once was feeling sick and there was nobody available. They have another office with a doctor who prescribed me the wrong medicine which made me go to my family doctor and avoid going there again.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: No on-campus smoking, it is like everything in life if you want to find bad things you will probably find them but I have never seen drug use on-campus, they are very strict on that and you can see in almost every building banners promoting a non drug use ethic.

2 College Junior

Parking: Parking on campus is somehow tough because all the car get really close to each other. The hit the car with the door but, the good thing are pretty close to the classroom.

1 College Junior

Athletics: Varsity sports at Polytechnic University are really poor, they don't give to much attention to the athletes, I went to Elgin Community College in Illnois and the different is huge, I'm a baseball player, the first time in University the first thing that I asked, it was about the baseball team, they told "oh yeah we are making one" so I refused one opportunity that I had in other University, because they offer good classes, at the end the didn't do anything. About other sport, they don't have a good support.

2 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The reason of the selection C is because, near the campus are a couple of businesses in which they sell alcohol and some of the student drink before class. I can't talk about dorms because we don't have dorms in the university.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: They have a very good equipment and good professors!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: In the campus itself there is only a school style cafeteria which offers a hot food, and a sandwich and subs section. The food is good although eating daily can become slightly costly. Besides this there are vending machines all over the university.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The campus is in the middle of a very busy metro area, so there aren't any attractions. However, this does mean that there is a decent variety of food places where you can go if you don't mind walking a bit. Also there is really good access to any and all public transportation.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: The mechanical engineering major is well structures. Some professors are not the best and don't really help the students, but others make up for it. The facilities for labs and classes are good although the building in general could use more maintenance especially the elevator. One would think and elevator located in an all engineer building would work better and break down less.
