Nightlife: The campus is dry and there are never parties on campus. There are some events where you can have beer if you're 21. As you advance years, you get more liberty and can go out and drink in town. But even if you're 21 your freshman year, you cannot drink unless you're on break. Downtown Annapolis has a lot of great bars, but they are also pretty overpriced. Baltimore and DC are nearby, but not by public transportation, you need a ride. UMD, Hopkins and some other schools aren't very far away either.

College Senior

Nightlife: there is no party scene at USNA, except just the bond between shipmates at any and all events.

2 College Junior

Nightlife: If you are an upperclassmen then you are able to go out in town on Friday nights and enjoy the restaurants and all the bars. Underage nightlife is nonexistent except in DC at other colleges. Transportation is mainly through sponsors or taxis if you do not have a car

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Upperclass Midshipmen (juniors and seniors) are allowed to go out on Friday nights while wearing civilian clothes (or civies). At this point, most Midshipmen are 21 and are keen on making up for the time they lost in their first two years due to Naval Academy restrictions. Most of the upperclass students can be found at local bars in downtown Annapolis (DTA). On long weekends, most prefer to go to other colleges in the tri-state area.
