Health & Safety: The Naval Academy is a military base, so there are US Navy cops that control access on and off the yard. I feel very safe going to school here. Only mids, those they accompany, and military/staff members can get on the yard after public visiting hours. The health center is top-notch but usually always backlogged and sometimes fickle. You're expected to self medicate for a lot, and that can be annoying, but if you're in trouble medically, you have access to Bethesda for care.

Health & Safety: Military Installation – The United States Naval Academy is a military installation. There is security at every entry point and you have to have certain identification to get on. You cannot enter the dormitory without special identification. Basically, compare the Naval Academy to any military base.

Health & Safety: Very Secure – Because the Naval Academy can be considered a high valued target, the amount of security present is very high. There are the base police who respond to any instance along with the enlisted servicemen at each possible entrance checking identification and bags. There are hours in which civilians are allowed to walk on the campus but no one is allowed to drive on campus without the proper authority and license plates.
