2 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: It's the same 5 places you can order from. As long as its between 0530 and 1130 (curfew).

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Highland falls is a hick town that is way sketchy.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: This is a limited selection of dining immediately off-campus that will quickly become repetitive to many students. The prices of these locations is for the most part reasonable and many of the places offer free on-campus delivery. A little further off-campus the dining is spectacular and offers boundless possibilities of the Hudson Valley Area or even NYC cuisine if you have the means and time to go that distance.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: When I don't feel like eating at the mess hall, I can call one of a handful of restaurants right outside the gates. They are all pretty efficient, reasonably priced, and always get the orders right. They all deliver.

1 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There is nothing around West Point. It is in an isolated forest in upstate New York. There are a few restaurants here and there, but nothing to rave about.

Almost none of the cadets are satisfied with the amount of restaurants in Highland Falls. The area is pretty much devoid of fine dining. A lot of times, your options are so limited, you will feel as if you have been to the same place a million times. There are, of course, the staples of any college diet—pizza and Chinese food—and cadets seem to get sick of this food nearly as quickly as they get tired of eating in the mess hall. If you order out, you have three options: You can order from McDonald's, you can order pizza, or you can order Chinese. That's it.

Although the majority of cadets seem to get tired of the mess hall food, they don't feel justified complaining since the mess hall food is free. Food off campus is obviously not free, so the cadets are much more willing to complain. What's there really isn't that bad. There just isn't much of a selection available. For a lot of the cadets, the lack of alternatives has made them more appreciative of a good, home-cooked meal. So it's not all bad news.
