Nightlife: clubs? NYC. bars? NYC there a few local bars but NYC is a lot of fun

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: When i say varsity sports are a big part of campus life i mean that the midshipman participate heavily in them. but there is not much watching the sports, except for mandatory football games. but nearly every single person is in a varsity sport.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: I personally enjoy campus a lot, it is very attractive and all the buildings look old on the outside but most have been fully renovated within the decade. the academy has a magnificent chapel and waterfront view of NYC

1 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Delano is about the worst food you can eat on long island.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: there is no off campus housing you live in barracks(dorms) 2-3 people per room, very sapcious, clean

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus is in an extremely wealthy suburb, nothing to worry about here.

1 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: yeah 13% female that is all you have to say about that

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: you don't need a scholar ship to go here, it would cost your parents or your self more money to feed and clothe you than to pay your small school fees

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: school is very remote, in a suburb, but is a 37 minute, and 9 dollar train ride from New York City, so there is that

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: I don't really know how you rate diversity , personally i don't care if i see lots of people of the same race, i am indifferent but when rating the school on amount of diversity id give it a low score but that doesn't affect the atmosphere of the school

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: It is a service academy with lots of rules and regulations, you don't pay for school so it is a simple inconvenience

5 College Sophomore

Parking: Only seniors can have cars, there is no real need to have one as an freshman, you walk to all classes, cars are for weekend activities

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It is a Federal Service Acadmey. It is free, and there is sea year.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The school is on Long Island, depending on where you want to go it can be very good or very average food

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: You must live on campus for 3 years. in military like barracks, BUT you get used to it and ive become very fond of the rooms and how close you are to your fellow classmates.
They are 1940s building that have all been remodels in the last 8 years. so they look cool on the outside but are modern on the inside

3 College Sophomore

Computers: We are required to buy a certian computer for about 900 dollars, it is a Dell PC, and it is great.
You do not need a printer of your own, the library offers free black and white printing .
The dorms are not wireless but the ethernet is very fast. academic buildings and the library are wireless.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I am a marine transportation and logistics major. I go out on practice cruises to test my navigation abilities, as well as use simulators. The technology and hands on aspects are amazing.
My teachers are almost all Master Mariners and know the ins and outs of the career.
