Facts & Statistics

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Ask around about which professors to take.
  • August is HOT and HUMID.
  • Community bathrooms really aren't that bad.
  • Put at least the minimum amount of Greenbucks on your card-you'll appreciate it when MacMart is the only place open and you have no money.
  • The NOLA Experience is a great way to meet other freshmen.
  • There is a LOT of drinking.
  • Use the Roommate Finder. (Random roommates are actually random.)
Interviews & Information Sessions
Call the Undergraduate Admissions Office between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm at (504)865-5731 or (800)873-9283 to schedule a group information session. Tulane does not offer evaluative interviews as part of the application process. However, members of the admission committee are always happy to answer questions and share their advice.
Campus Tours
Tulane welcomes visitors in the Undergraduate Admission Office, Room 210 Gibson Hall. Information sessions and campus tours begin at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm Monday through Friday, and at 9:00 am on most Saturdays during the school year.
Overnight Visits
Prospective students can spend a night in a dorm with a current student any Sunday through Thursday evening while classes are in session. You'll be scheduled for a campus tour, and may be able to attend a class as well. Additionally, you'll get a complimentary meal and a guest pass to the Reily Recreation Center. Call the Office of Undergraduate Admission at least two weeks in advance to schedule this type of visit; hours are Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 5PM; the number is (800) 873-9283 (Fax: (504) 862-8715).
