4 College Senior

Nightlife: There are several bars to choose from. The best spot is the Dukum Inn, which has All You Can Drink for only $8 on Thursday evenings. The only downside is that it is difficult to go out with friends to these places on Friday and Saturday nights if you are under 21.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Kirksville's kind of small so there's not as wide of a variety of bars and clubs as in bigger college towns, but students still manage to find plenty of opportunities and places to go.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: If you are over 21 or have a fake ID, you can at least be guaranteed a decent night at the bars. otherwise, there are only a few fraternity places that have parties that are open for everyone. Again, it all depends on being popular and outgoing, and that way you can find people from different social groups to party with.

3 College Student

Nightlife: You have the option to create your own weekend habits, there are some slow periods but you will usually find yourself with some options at the very least.

3 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: There are a variety of bars and dance clubs that gives everyone the chance to go to town.

Kirksville just doesn't have a nightlife. Townspeople close up shop by 10 p.m., and students are left to find their own entertainment. Check out the liquor section at Walmart on a weekend sometime after 10 p.m. and you'll understand. Since there isn't much else to do in Kirksville besides throw alcohol-dependent bashes, there never seems to be a shortage of parties. There is no pressure to drink, however, especially if you live in the dorms. Many people have a great time listening to music, playing games, and watching movies with friends.

The Dukum Inn is the one bar students frequent most often, with its budget-friendly specials, such as Drinkin' with Lincoln—$5 all-you-can-drink—and musical events. Best of all, it's within walking distance of campus, so there is no threat of drunks getting behind the wheel.

Organization Parties
Most active organizations on campus throw their own events, but these are rarely typical parties. There are notable exceptions, including the departmental frats, campus media groups, honor fraternities, and service organizations. Mostly these are private gatherings, but knowing someone will get you in just about everywhere.
Did You Know?
People chill at fraternities and house parties, where age is no object. Some just dance and have a good time, some sip a beer or two, and some get plastered. There are also plenty of University-sponsored events held on campus.
