Health & Safety: I love our security system on campus and inside of the residence halls. The officers are very friendly and I have made great relationships with some and I know that I will be safe. There are emergency buttons located on campus every 20 minutes. The campus also does a great job making sure when walking at night, that all areas are well lit.

Health & Safety: I feel as though the Towson University Police Department does do a great job at alerting students when there is crime going on, and does everything they can to keep us safe. However, there have been many robberies, and I feel as though the robbers never get found.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safety is not usually an issue on famous but recently, some robberies have occurred around the famous but thanks to the campus alert texts, students are always informed about such situations and security is always around to help students if needed.

Health & Safety: There are emergency call stations/ blue lights all over campus which helps with feeling secure on campus at night. There have been issues with sexual assault all over the country and its an issue that needs to be paid more attention to all over but from what I've seen, Towson does a fair job handling what happens on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: While at Towson, I've only been mad aware of one sexually assault, but the campus police tries to notify you as quickly as possible if anything is happening

As it is located in one of the more dangerous counties in America, Towson University’s security system makes every effort to ensure safety on campus. Crime is not a primary concern for TU students, but the TU police department still keep students well informed, unlike some other schools that attempt to keep crime discrete. They post alerts after every crime and host an orientation program that informs students of ways to remain safe on campus. Another great safety feature is that there are 24-hour emergency telephones and lit sidewalks all over campus.

To a large extent, the TU police work hard and are always seen around the dorms. In addition, students are ensured that they are secure when entering their dorms. One of the main complaints about security is that students are often overwhelmed by the process they must go through when entering their dorms, as well. Some students also feel that security should be seen more around campus, rather than just situating themselves near the dorms.
