Facts & Statistics

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Before a cab takes you where you do not want to go, know that there is a difference between Power Plant and Power Plant Live!. Power Plant Live! is where the popular bars are.
  • If you hear the word VIP's, it refers to the same place as Paws.
  • The Patuxent is the greatest place to eat on campus. For those who did not get this book, they probably will not know about it `til a month into school and will be eating bad Towson food.
  • The ratio of guys to girls.
  • The University Union is the main student center on campus.
  • Towson is one of the only schools where you can get beer delivered to your door at 3 a.m. if you are 21 or older.
  • Try to call Jimmy's a half hour in advance on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • What is known as "the beach" is actually just a patch of grass where a lot of students hang out in between classes. It is located by Stephens Hall.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Preceding campus tours on select Fridays at 1:30 p.m., members of the Admissions staff present an overview of Towson University and answer admissions questions. Call 1-888-4TOWSON to make a reservation. If you are interested in touring campus with a group of 10-40 friends or classmates from high school or community college, you can easily do so! The tour will include a 75-minute walking tour of campus and a 15-30 minute presentation from a member of the admissions staff.
Campus Tours
Towson Student Ambassadors offer personal insights into life at TU during walking tours that leave from the lobby of the Enrollment Services Center. Reservations for all tours are required. Call 1-888-4TOWSON or make a campus tour reservation online at www.new.towson.edu/main/admissions/freshman/visitus/campustours.
