4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life seems like an easy way to meet friends and always have a party to go to.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I think Towson was a beautiful campus. The workout section of the gym needs to be enlarged with it being at max capacity as often as it is. The library is nice but the wifi usually goes in and out which makes it not ideal for working on assignments online. Towson also offers plenty of places to study outside when the weather is nice.

Overall Experience: Overall I have enjoyed my first year at Towson and am ready to continue my next year. The courses I took were all rigorous and made me more well rounded in my knowledge on various topics. My campus is not as diverse as my high school was which was different. The campus itself is ideal with everything in decent walking distance and well kept.

College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I only just finished my Freshman year so I would not know much about networking.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I have never attended a sporting event due to me being home every weekend working but most of my friends would go to games and support our school.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: My first year I drove back home every weekend to work so I wouldn't know much about the party scene.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: there are limited office hours of the in structures. Also, students are not allowed to ask any kind of questions during exams.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: There are many majors that students can choose. The career center offers many events where students get opportunity to explore their careers. The career center websites allow students to find the jobs they like. However, most of the on campus jobs are only available for work-study students.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safety is not usually an issue on famous but recently, some robberies have occurred around the famous but thanks to the campus alert texts, students are always informed about such situations and security is always around to help students if needed.

Majors: Your teachers really do try to help and they do have some unorthodox majors.

College Sophomore

Majors: Never had an internship on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I've heard about some cases of hazing but I am personally not in one so I have no horror stories to share. HOWEVER, when you go to events you cannot help but be excited when Greek Life is there because everyone is so excited.

Facilities: Wonderful free gym! It is always crowded it seems but it is a great place none the less.

Facilities: When it is warm you always see people outside and laying around. The library is huge and the people who work in the library are helpful

Diversity: All from my personal experience seem to be accepted. I have yet to see any cases of discrimination or anything that would make me say something.

Academics: The workload is heavy but the professors are there to help you grow and push you. Internship opportunities are abundant in the area.

3 College Junior

Academics: The professors are great for the most part. I was a transfer student and registration was taken care of at an orientation of sorts. Orientation is stressful and was difficult to keep a level head at times.

5 College Junior

Majors: My program is amazing. I get a lot of otherwise unattainable experience and the professors in my program are talented and have a lot of experience to share with you to help you grow as an artist. I would not change my experience for the world.

3 College Junior

Majors: To get into the Graphic Design program, students have to screen by sending in their portfolios. It's a pretty daunting task. If you plan to do so, make sure your portfolio is cleanly put together and that you have taken the time and energy to cleanly mount your finished work. Also, keep your GPA as high as possible.

Local Atmosphere: Towson is a good town. It is not always safe. I get text alerts about local crime more often than I would like to. But there is plenty to do around the town and is relatively safe during the day.

Overall Experience: I love Towson University for the experience that it has given me. If I had gone to any other school I would not have gotten the experience with 3D printing and laser cutting. The people on campus are fantastic, professors and students are caring and there for you through thick and thin.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are emergency call stations/ blue lights all over campus which helps with feeling secure on campus at night. There have been issues with sexual assault all over the country and its an issue that needs to be paid more attention to all over but from what I've seen, Towson does a fair job handling what happens on campus.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The ethnic and racial diversity in Towson is great. There are a wide range of people to meet and talk to. The LGBTQA community is prevalent and very accepting as well.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Towson University has amazing opportunities for Design students. While in the program, you will gain amazing experience such as experience using a manufacturer's laser cutter and utilizing a 3D printer. The professors in the arts program are, for the most part, very knowledgeable and caring.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Tigerfest is an awesome experience for a school to have but tickets sell out very quickly. Many are proud to call themselves Tigers, and rightly so.

Towson is the type of school that, if you find the right people, you will have a wonderful experience. For those who have trouble making friends, it is highly recommended to get involved on campus. There are many organizations and sports teams that thrive in Towson and are strongly recommended in order to assist students in finding a solid group of friends. Some students love Towson so much that they just cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that they love so much. Perhaps it is the attentive faculty at Towson or the nightlife that has so much to offer. Maybe they just enjoy the small, comfortable campus setting that allows them to pass by familiar faces every day.

Towson is a school that becomes what you make of it. It is clear that the students who are engaged in their work or are interested in an organization gain a greater sense of appreciation for Towson. Some students express how rewarding their experiences at Towson have been while acknowledging the fact that the University is not for everyone.
