4 College Junior

Majors: Original major at my C.C. was Homeland Security (which is very hard to find as a 4 year degree at "real" schools) but I picked the International Studies major at first because of it being the closet match. Ended up having to switch to Political Science since I.S. required 2 years of foreign language which I honestly don't have time for. So far though the Poli Sci program has been awesome, I'm taking Terrorism/Counter Terrorism and International Conflict and I couldn't be more pumped.

Local Atmosphere: Towson is probably one of the nicest areas in Baltimore County, it's pretty dope. North of Towson near the Loche Haven Reservoir is beautiful.

Facilities: Most of my time spent here has been the College of Liberal Arts building and Burdick Hall (for the gym). Everything seems awesome though.

Scholarships: The initial process is very easy, but there are many different steps that weren't spelled out for me so I was in the dark for quite a bit of it. Ended up taking twice as long to finish the application for it, but I'll be getting my financial aid this month.

Nightlife: A lot of off campus house parties and stuff, not sure of the local bars though. Having grown up in Maryland I've been going to DTA and Fed Hill for the vast majority of my nights out and I'll probably keep it that way.

Off-Campus Housing: Our house is alright, maybe 10 minutes from campus in the Parkville area. Our landlord kinda sucks but we deal with it, the house is mediocre in size but its livable. Getting off campus housing means you need to start looking early (my buddies I moved in with already had the place lined up by May an we moved in by June). Strike early and strike fast.

Guys & Girls: Having moved here this June, I've become good friends with everyone I've met through my roommates. Love everyone up here.

Towson is the type of school that, if you find the right people, you will have a wonderful experience. For those who have trouble making friends, it is highly recommended to get involved on campus. There are many organizations and sports teams that thrive in Towson and are strongly recommended in order to assist students in finding a solid group of friends. Some students love Towson so much that they just cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that they love so much. Perhaps it is the attentive faculty at Towson or the nightlife that has so much to offer. Maybe they just enjoy the small, comfortable campus setting that allows them to pass by familiar faces every day.

Towson is a school that becomes what you make of it. It is clear that the students who are engaged in their work or are interested in an organization gain a greater sense of appreciation for Towson. Some students express how rewarding their experiences at Towson have been while acknowledging the fact that the University is not for everyone.
