Off-Campus Housing: Towson Place and University Village are really expensive, that's all I know

Health & Safety: Campus police seem nice, I see them quite often just roaming around. Security in the buildings is nice too. Theyre there from 11pm-6am

Weather: Rain sucks, especially when it's pouring and you have to go to class. Snow days are nice though. Make sure you buy snow boots, rain boots, a rain jacket, hats and gloves!

Campus Strictness: I don't go out much so I cant really say anything.

Diversity: Very diverse campus. I haven't seen anyone have problems with anyone because of their religion or sexual orientation, but I know it goes on.

Academics: The UTeach program is amazing! They have great teachers and you get to teach freshman year.

Math can be difficult, however, if you have a good teacher and get help when you need it you'll be fine.

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of the same things, pizza, Chinese. But if you don't have a car, it's kind of hard to go places because a lot of the good places don't deliver

Weather: The weather in Maryland sucks no matter what. One day it will snow the next its sunny. Its unpredictable and you never know what youre going to get.

Transportation: The shuttle systems are awesome. They have pick up locations at almost every apartment complex that is near the school. There are also taxis available too all around Towson. Zip cars are on campus but too expensive for college students.

Academics: Getting into the classes you want as a freshman or sophomore really sucks. The professors are okay, some are horrible but I have had good ones.. really just hit or miss.

Scholarships: If you do your job and fill out forms on time, it is a smooth ride.

Drug Safety: Everyone drinks in the dorms. Its known that you can't just walk around campus with an open container but most common in the dorms.

Health & Safety: I have personally never been, but I have heard stories. If you go to the health center they charge you SO much more money than a regular doctor would. The nurses have no idea what they're doing, who gave them their degree anyway?

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: People aren't too active in the athletics. Students tend to use football games as an excuse to get drunk, but that's about it. If our athletics was better and won games I think it would be more popular.

Towson is the type of school that, if you find the right people, you will have a wonderful experience. For those who have trouble making friends, it is highly recommended to get involved on campus. There are many organizations and sports teams that thrive in Towson and are strongly recommended in order to assist students in finding a solid group of friends. Some students love Towson so much that they just cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that they love so much. Perhaps it is the attentive faculty at Towson or the nightlife that has so much to offer. Maybe they just enjoy the small, comfortable campus setting that allows them to pass by familiar faces every day.

Towson is a school that becomes what you make of it. It is clear that the students who are engaged in their work or are interested in an organization gain a greater sense of appreciation for Towson. Some students express how rewarding their experiences at Towson have been while acknowledging the fact that the University is not for everyone.
