3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Financial Aid is great when it covers but I don't have the extra money to pay towards what is not covered. I have books and tuition that I can't pay for.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The over all experience was a very good one. I did not have any issues with this school when I applied and they helped we every step of the way. They were more than willing to help me when I was not sure what to do next.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I had a situation that required a little help as far as work load and the school did everything they could to help me get through it and still pass my classes.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: They have a wide verity of curriculums and there are many different things that you can take and four different campuses that are in the local area to give us all a lot more options.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Most professors will work with you and do everything they can to help you understand the material and they have office hours where you can get one on one help if you need it.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I have been able to work the whole time I have been taking classes at Tidewater Community College. I have not had any problems with the on line classes that I have taken.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am pleased with this Community College so much so I have all three of my kids enrolling them when they are ready.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Most students that graduate have had very little problems getting into there chosen professions

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: They work with us and help us to find job placement after we graduate and they also help us do the transfers to Universities when we chose to do that.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: We have a new library that is joined with the public library on our campus, we also have a student center and, a work out area for us to take a break and stay health as well.

Student Body: The student body at Tidewater Community College is a very upbeat and hardworking group of students. Some are just out of high school others are older and just wanting a career change, but we all work together to accomplish the same goals. Getting our Degree's at the end of our college careers.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: It's in a good area, close to where I'm living, the courses are somewhat/very flexible, and the professors are excellent.

5 College Senior

Career Services: Parallel curriculums are easily accessible so that students can transfer with ease to universities around the state when the time comes.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Professors really enjoy the subjects they instruct, and there is a wide variety to choose from. Different classes are laid out accordingly and appropriately, and the student-teacher ratio is generally good as well.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: The college has an agreement with many universities around the state that guarantee (with good grades/standing) acceptance into the universities per following a parallel curriculum to that which one would otherwise be studying at the specific university.

4 College Senior

Student Body: There is a fair amount of diversity. It's not really leaning any which way specifically, just like in a high school where there are all kinds of people; they're just older here.

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: New facilities have been opened in the past year, from student centers, to caf├ęs and computer labs. There is a variety of activities and resources for students to choose from during down/in-between time.

College Senior

Academic Experience: I haven't begun my major coursework yet.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The workload is reasonable (generally not too overwhelming, but enough that you're learning everything you need), and the selection of classes available is good for a community college.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although probably out of the school's control, it's ridiculous that my tuition should be doubled for "out-of-state" because I'm "not self-sufficient" because I don't make $15,000 in a year. Of course I don't: I'M IN COLLEGE ALL THE TIME. I would be self-sufficient if I didn't have to pay extra thousands of dollars, but because of that I have to get help from my parents. THAT is what makes me "not self-sufficient."

5 College Senior

Online Courses: The professors are very accessible, knowledgeable, and interactive. I know if I'm already somewhat adept in a certain area, I can take the corresponding courses online with no hassle. Professors are eager to help and available on campus during office hours.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: When a lab supplement is required with the lecture classes for a science, they're often offered at unusual times, or (for me) days that I don't go to the college. So rather than having class 2 set days and being able to regularly go to work every other day, I have a random block in the middle of the afternoon where I am unavailable.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Going to TCC was money well spend.
