5 College Senior

Overall Experience: It's in a good area, close to where I'm living, the courses are somewhat/very flexible, and the professors are excellent.

5 College Senior

Career Services: Parallel curriculums are easily accessible so that students can transfer with ease to universities around the state when the time comes.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Professors really enjoy the subjects they instruct, and there is a wide variety to choose from. Different classes are laid out accordingly and appropriately, and the student-teacher ratio is generally good as well.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: The college has an agreement with many universities around the state that guarantee (with good grades/standing) acceptance into the universities per following a parallel curriculum to that which one would otherwise be studying at the specific university.

4 College Senior

Student Body: There is a fair amount of diversity. It's not really leaning any which way specifically, just like in a high school where there are all kinds of people; they're just older here.

Campus Resources: New facilities have been opened in the past year, from student centers, to caf├ęs and computer labs. There is a variety of activities and resources for students to choose from during down/in-between time.

College Senior

Academic Experience: I haven't begun my major coursework yet.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The workload is reasonable (generally not too overwhelming, but enough that you're learning everything you need), and the selection of classes available is good for a community college.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although probably out of the school's control, it's ridiculous that my tuition should be doubled for "out-of-state" because I'm "not self-sufficient" because I don't make $15,000 in a year. Of course I don't: I'M IN COLLEGE ALL THE TIME. I would be self-sufficient if I didn't have to pay extra thousands of dollars, but because of that I have to get help from my parents. THAT is what makes me "not self-sufficient."

Online Courses: The professors are very accessible, knowledgeable, and interactive. I know if I'm already somewhat adept in a certain area, I can take the corresponding courses online with no hassle. Professors are eager to help and available on campus during office hours.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: When a lab supplement is required with the lecture classes for a science, they're often offered at unusual times, or (for me) days that I don't go to the college. So rather than having class 2 set days and being able to regularly go to work every other day, I have a random block in the middle of the afternoon where I am unavailable.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Going to TCC was money well spend.

Facilities: I love attending TCC, the teacher are amazing and helpful.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel that value of the education I am receiving at TCC is worth the tuition costs incurred. The experiences I have had with the financial aid office in the past have been very positive and my suggestion for getting financial aid would be to follow all requirements in a timely manner.

Academic Experience: The OTA program is an interesting, exciting and very rewarding program. I enjoy the hands-on aspect of the program and the classes are interesting and relevant. The workload and curriculum are challenging but manageable, and the facility is new and technologically up-to-date. The internship opportunities are great learning experiences and relevant to the area of study.

Academic Experience: TCC offers a wide array of academic programs. There is a huge diversity within the student population and I feel is a good representation of the diverse Hampton Roads area. The professors are knowledgeable and experienced, care about their students and want to see them succeed.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love the small size of TCC and the diversity of the student population. The classes in my program are interesting and challenging and the staff really cares about their students and wants to see them succeed. I have had a wonderful experience at TCC so far and happy I chose this college to pursue my educational goals.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I ran into minor problems with financial aid that confused even some of the faculty, but other than that it was a great experience. The classes were cost effective and they even added a balance to my student card for printing, which really benefited me. I would say with getting financial aid or looking into grants and scholarships, visit the financial aid office and talk to them before attempting to do it on your own. They really help make the process easier.

Career Services: I didn't get involved too much with the job network there, but I did see that they had a bulletin board that posted new jobs available in the area. The counseling staff really helped me in figuring out which credits I would need in order to transfer to an out of state University, which I know can be a difficult task. I know nothing about the alumni network at TCC, but I assume with it being a community college it wasn't as big of a deal. I do know that some of the students kept in touch with the faculty though and even came to visit their classes on occasion.
