3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Some classes are great, others feel like average high school classes.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: There are some great professors, not many classes

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid is tough to get through, the staff aren't always very helpful.

Student Body: We have more 'older students' entering each semester since I have been there. There are some of the very young that don't like us being there, but I know the teachers like a few older students challenging the 19 year olds. We have an extremely diverse student body, and many cultures bring interesting conversations.

Academic Flexibility: All of my credits are at TNCC, but they have people to get that job done. I have had experience with taking a class completely in the classroom, on a different campus, partially online and partially in the classroom, or completely on line. I believe this is a very flexible situation!

Online Courses: Taking an on line course can be a very different experience. You have to monitor your progress and keep up with the work. As a college, they expect a student to be mature enough to get help when you need it. Our BlackBoard system can be a bit confusing at first, but once you get used to how a teacher uses it, all goes well.

Academic Experience: I feel the curriculum for the two degrees I have worked on are well worth the time it takes to complete. TNCC is not a big school, so there is always the advantage of the availability of your professors. But like with any institution, if you can't find help one way, then open another door! We do need more availability of internships and job opportunities.

Academic Experience: Our professors are top notch, with rigid requirements to become a teacher. The curriculum is broad enough within a degree to have you prepared for the workplace. Registration is a simple process, but you have to have some familiarity with computers. A full semester of 4 classes will keep a person with no job busy, but if you work, or have a young family, you have to be ready to put in a lot of hours with studying, too.

Career Services: I haven't had the pleasure to use these services yet!

Facilities: There is plenty of help, but you need to go looking for it, and not take no for an answer!

3 College Senior

Student Body: It is either a lot of old people going back to school or a lot of young adults who could not get into a four year college

3 College Senior

Career Services: Whenever i try and talk to someone about transferring I do not get any information that I need

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: They do have some tutoring but it is hard to get the help because the people with learning disabilities have priority

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: Half the time the network is down or it is too weak to do anything with

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: It is a lot cheaper than going to a four year school at first and I get guaranteed admissions if i graduate to any school in Viginia

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: My parents claim me but I am paying for most of my schooling and have not received any help from the financial aid office even when going to ask about scholarships

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I really needed to have classes on Tuesdays and Wednesday, but they did not give me an option to have my biology classes on those days that coincided with the rest of my schedule

3 College Senior

Facilities: A lot of the buildings are older and there is only a subway on campus.

College Senior

Academic Experience: I do not know many of the science majors.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: It felt like I was back in high school. I also could not understand one of my teachers and they would not let me switch classes.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: It's like any other school.

3 Recent Alumnus

Student Body: It's not many students at a community college, but it's a good amount.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: Well I schedule my work around my school schedule, because my schooling comes first.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: They have sports, and many groups for students to join, but me personally, I'm waiting to do my sport when I transfer to a four year college.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: The computers I have used, are great, Great speed an great connection
