3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: A lot of shopping but not a lot of places to do activities.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It's very rural not what I am used to being from Boston. It is different and I am there to do school so I stay motivated.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Thomas College is located in the small town of Waterville, ME. There are many different activities students can get involved in. They can join the local YMCA, catch a movie at Flagship Cinemas, get their tan on at Sun Tan City, or even play some pool at TJ's Poolhouse. Colby College is also located in Waterville. Husson, University of Maine in Augusta, University of Farmington are very close by and just about a little over and hour away.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Sports and activities are decent, but there could be more activities to do on a regular basis. There's not much to do in the city of Waterville in general.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Waterville is not a big town but it's not small, especially compared to the other towns in Maine. It has a nice variety of dining experiences, but there isn't much to do outside of campus. Campus activities are how I get involved.

The city of Waterville has movie theaters, plenty of places to eat, mini golf, a local pool, a nightclub, bars, and a nearby family fun park with go carts and mini golf. The Waterville Junior High School is next door to campus, and there’s a bowling alley across the street, as well as a golf course with Chinese restaurant. If you get bored with what Waterville has to offer, Augusta is not very far away and provides more options for shopping, as well as other attractions. The Augusta Civic Center has concerts, shows, and games at different times throughout the year that students can check out.

Most Thomas students go home on the weekends, but those who don’t often go to the movies or attend campus functions or events, like comedians and premier movie nights. There are also Thomas athletic sporting events going on all the time that students can attend for free.
