3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: They live in old, small houses. They are all cramped in small rooms.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: If you look at the school as a whole I would say the school is pretty average.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I do not really know about off- campus housing.

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The town is very small, there are not many things to do. One of the biggest things to do on campus is to go to the local coffee shop and hang out.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is only two places that I know of that gives student discounts. The is kind of a bummer giving the fact that we are college students and do not have the most money. They are pretty convenient and can easily take the shuttle too. The variety is not the best, I mean we have a pub, a family owned restaurant, many pizza places, and a few international food places.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Business, psychology, and biology are probably the bigger majors on campus. The workload can be tough depending on how many credits you take but, everything is manageable if you know how to time manage.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The campus is so diverse. We have international students from Korea to China to Japan, Belarus to Pakistan. The economic background and political beliefs are just about in the same boat as being that if you do not tell people, they will not know. Thiel is a Lutheran college and we have a chapel on campus but not only does it serve Lutheran services it also holds mass for other denominations too. Different sexual orientations are accepted on campus. I mean yes you will always have those few people who do not like people for one reason or another but overall I believe that Thiel is a very accepting college for everything.

Campus Housing: I have lived in a dorm for my first two years of school. It is nice but at the same time it is very different and it is something that takes time to get adjusted. I personally have never lived with anyone else so that was a big adjustment for me. My freshman year, our dorm became a big family. We all just about knew each other. It was great.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: One major that our program has that not many other schools have is a Mortuary Science major. That is something that I think makes our school unique.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am not a big party goer. There are bars downtown that many students go to at night. The parties at the fraternities and apartments and places like that are for everyone to go to. We now have breathalyzers on campus so that underage students can go to the parties and enjoy them without drinking and not have to worried about being caught for drinking even though they weren't.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Most students who do not know much about Greek Life think that people in sororities and fraternities pay for their friends. This is not true. Yes, you may pay to be a member but it goes to different types of dues and things like that so many people look down on sororities and fraternities. Sororities and fraternities play a big part on campus, not only do they house some fun parties but they hold great events to support their philanthropy.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Student involvement in sports is pretty high on campus. A lot of students participate in sports. The team performances are not always the best but, I am not positive because I do not attend many of the sporting events. The fan support is okay and the school spirit for events is okay. The athletic facilities are not the greatest but they work.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: For the most part I feel pretty safe on campus. The campus police are very involved with being around the campus. We have special security measures in place in case someone comes on campus who does not belong on campus.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: Thiel College is in the middle of the snow belt so as they say; when it rains, it pours. The winters are pretty bad but it is just something that you have to suck up and get used too.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Many students play some kind of sport. The performance may not always be the best but many of the students attend. The cheer and dance teams attend football and basketball games and a student spirit section can always be found.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: All of the professors are dedicated to helping you succeed in all you do.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Academics push you to strive to do better, but are not overbearing.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Life is a major component of student life on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The games are always fun to attend, but they are not a major part of campus life.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: All of the professors know you by name and are looking to help you succeed.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: There are a lot of rules in place, but students know how to find ways to avoid getting caught.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: They have a lot of international students and have an Organization of Black Collegiates.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: You should always double check your statement to make sure that it is correct.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The shuttle is usually running, but they may pick you up with many students already in the car.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: They provide laptops for all students. The printers do not always work in the dorms, but you can always go to the library or a lab.
