Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I love my school. There is no information on this but if i could've gone to a UC or cal state and transferred, I would. If you have a previous degree, you could get a professional designation degree in the major you want which is half the price and time. I would've gotten the college experience and proper education.

College Freshman

Academic Flexibility at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I never had to transfer credits. I don't know how to and who to go to.

College Freshman

Career Services at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: The staff tells us we have resources and the career center to use after graduation. But, I honestly don't know much on this topic.

Student Body at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: There are the people who are there to learn and make a career. There are also people there who have a lot of money and don't show up to classes or leave early. I have seen it actually piss off professors. Most students are people I get a long with. Some students believe they are untouchable and shouldn't even mingle with their class mates. But, I feel like that is opened for interpretation.

2 College Freshman

Facilities at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: There is not a lot of school spirit and poor attendance for club organizations. I am a member in both organizations and I feel like there is a lack of members. Coming from a well spirited school and working in our associated student body, I have seen a drastic downfall while attending FIDM. People do not associate with others and are only there for classes.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: The tuition is expensive and I am all on loans which is very stressful. I wish the tuition was lowered. Instead, it is increasing about 500$ a year for every major.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: If you can just read by yourself instead of having a teacher lecture at you all day then it's good. However if you want the hands on experience you need to register for a class.

5 College Freshman

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I believe Merchandise Product Development is the best major from the school. I love my major and would love to extend my education if possible. Instead I am continuing for my bachelors. The workload for any major at FIDM is hardcore. You are there to finish fast and learn the business. If you want a college life FIDM isn't for you until you are ready to get out there and work. Even though I graduated high school in 2013, you go into the school expected to act like an adult ready to take on the real world. Staff, faculty and other students will help you and are very encouraging. Internships and job opportunities only come when you use the school's resources and network. Everything else is on you and what you have taken out of the education at FIDM. I all repeat though, the work is intense and you will spend countless of hours on homework and projects.

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I love the program at FIDM. Not only is it hands on application for classes, but also very creative. This is a creative school for artistic students who wish to thrive in the art/entertainment/fashion industry. Classes are made to either be foundations or the real deal to help you be successful in the field. Teachers know what's going on currently because most of them work in the industry. Some classes are challenging and some will be very easy which is a good balance. Finding the right professors is tough, but the amazing professors will help you achieve. As mentioned before, the workload is the most intense and stressful part of the school. I have never been so stressed in my life. I think it's worth t though! As for the class registration, it is online which is tough if you don't sign on time.

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: Since FIDM isn't a college with extra amenities, there aren't activities you can participate in unless you are involved with a club. Otherwise the resources provided by the library is probably the best around for the fashion industry!

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: This would be the second best thing I love about my school. The first was listed above. However, the technology driven education is worth going to FIDM. It's very hands on and the school has all the technology needed to thrive in the business. The only thing is unless you are in the library or printing building you probably don't have access to wifi.

1 College Junior

Facilities at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: Most of my teachers spend time gossiping about one another or talk about their own daily life happenings. The teachers here are taught to "baby" or behave their students, not intellectually challenge them. The more time I spend in a classroom, the more and quicker my brain cells evaporate.

College Junior

Online Courses at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: I have not taken any online course so far.

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: The school has many resources rooms such as the library, the textile room, the sewing machines, and computers, the dress forms, and as well as the state-of-the-art knitting machines.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: The school has over 10 computer rooms located on the main campus and a couple surrounding the school. Free printing service is offered in most rooms, and if you have any questions you can usually find a instructor nearby.

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: As a fashion design major at FIDM, I am highly dedicated to my work. The instructors expect you to give your everything. You do not get graded on your effort, but the results of you work. My favorite part about the school is how everyone treats you as if you are already in the fashion industry. At FIDM you are challenged constantly to better yourself.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: At FIDM, you have to take basic classes as well as those that's directly related to your major. At the IDEA center, there are people ready to help you with specific classes (such as fashion illustration) and general studies (such as effective speaking).

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: FIDM offers classes from 8:30 in the morning to 9:00 at night. The school offers Saturday classes for people with busy schedules. The school is very considerate because many students have part-time jobs on campus or outside of school. When it comes to transferring credits, I was able to transfer my AP scores easily.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: FIDM is a private for-profit school, therefore it offers less scholarships compare to the state schools. The tuition is significantly more, and I did receive less money from the state due to the fact that I am attending a private school. However I am satisfied with the education I have been receiving.

College Junior

Career Services at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: I'm currently in my 3rd quarter here at FIDM. The school's career center has a rule where you can only receive internship opportunities if you are in your second to last quarter. Because of that, I am unable to give a just rating.

Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: So far I have been enjoying my time at FIDM. I love the fact that these knowledges that I have gained helped to transform my vision into a 3-D garment that makes people wonder where they can buy one.

4 College Junior

Student Body at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: Most people at FIDM are very open minded. We are open to new ideas, different ethnic groups, varies economic backgrounds, and different sexual orientation. The one thing that binds us together is our passion towards our dream.

4 College Junior

Facilities at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: I love how we have easy access to different kinds of resources in our school. Whether it's the library or the sewing room, the idea center or the textile machines, the large number of supplies in our school have made finals easier to manage.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: Overall I love the school, the teachers, and the classes. I love the area it's in, there is so much activity in Downtown. But if I had to do it all over, I would not choose this school because of the quarter system.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: In your first quarter they have you take an online class about financial aid, and how to create a budget
