Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: This school doesn't need stars to rate it because it owns all the stars that are given to the other schools below FIDM.

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: i feel like i have learned so much already in a month than i did in a year at public high school. some one needs to change the public high school learning system its beyond shitty.

Academic Flexibility at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: i believe that its right to assign ONE turn in date for assignments, no slacking or late assignments are acceptable. We learned that as children and we shouldn't have trouble with turning assignments on time.

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Orange County: I just got elected to be vice president in our student council and I've never felt so involved before with my school before and even when i wasn't in student council i would still be majorly involved.

Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: They have pros such as academic advisors and the career center, the library and the computer lab across the street and the fact that each building that holds lecture is within walking distance but far enough that you get a brisk walk in. I love that the school celebrates everyones artistic and creative side and tries to nurtures their analytical side. Cons would be the fact that the school is very cliquey and there is a certain type of students you see every time you turn around. I think everyone that applies probably get accepted as long as their is some form of financial aid. I know that horrible but its just my opinion, my observation. The financial department is a complete joke in the fact that they are like robots on an assembly line, trying their hardest to get us in and out whether that be to to cut us off, give short answers that barely scratch the surface. I feel like I have to ask more and more questions which annoys them and they aren't shy about showing it. I have to PULL answers out of there mouths. You aren't getting your money worth out of this school. In reality we should be paying 3/4 that. The amount we pay for what we pay = not worth the money or the time. I like the school alright but needs a lot of improvement for all the hype it receives and the education and technologies it provides

Student Body at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I like that there are many international students at FIDM. The school encourages creative international students to apply. There are also a lot of gay who happen to be extremely nice people. I'm proud to be apart of a school that makes them feel accepted and a safe haven for them to work hard and study hard while making friends and showing off artistic advantages

Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: I felt like there was a way to teach class, assign classwork and homework and quarter projects and field trips if there was any in a way that the student felt as if they were getting their moneys worth, while actively learning. Not just learning from instructors but by other individuals in the industry- guest speakers, field trips, presentation about their personal experiences. I just needed more from my professors in order to learn and retain what I learned.

Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: The true gem of this school is the career center. They prepared you as much as possible with example packets opportunities to learn outside the school, walk in services, and multiple slots for scheduled appointments. Overall Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: The tuition cost is not worth the value of the school it's self but the life experience you get from the school is priceless.

2 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: Fashion design is not for the faint of heart. It is a lot of long hours and expect to have no social life with the mass amount of homework you get every week. The first academic year is fairly easy but the second you get into your core design classes so those are the classes I feel will make or break you. In my case it broke me but it also made me realize design wasn't for me as a profession but more as a hobby. I was starting to hate my major and what I thought I was very passionate about once.

Academic Experience at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: Very few actually good professors. The curriculum needs some editing which I believe they may have for the next graduating class. Registration is very easy. Workload is super heavy. Good study abroad program if you can afford it. Also have a Business management program for after you graduate from your core major.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: If you really think about it the amount it cost to go here for 2 years you could go to a cheaper 4 year school and have your BA vs. your AA.There are only a few teachers that are worth the tuition you pay and it is hard to get into there classes because of there awesome reputation.

Campus Resources at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising - Los Angeles: It has the biggest fashion library in the US so anything you need to know about fashion it's there. I wish there was an on campus gym and that all the student housing was closing to campus despite the campus being not in the greatest location in Los Angeles.
