3 College Junior

Campus Resources: There aren't a lot of activities or clubs on campus. The library is dated and the "cyber cafe" isn't very cyber friendly. If I study on campus, it's usually in my car.

Campus Resources: There aren't printing labs in every building but they have one in one building. Wireless is great and reliable! Printing is free.

Campus Resources: The gym is open to student on certain night of the week for recreational purposes. The library has been re-done and has all the necessary resources for doing work and projects.

Campus Resources: I use the printer on campus every now and then but it is costly so only when i have forgotten to print at home.

Campus Resources: The campus at CCBC is very structured, and there are not many aesthetically stunning buildings or scenery. It is hard to find out about campus activities because there aren't many posters or advertisements that make students want to attend them. The library is very helpful and the learning centers are as well. Learning centers/ writing centers are probably the best resources because people who want to help students run the centers and make it easier to write papers and get help on certain classes.

One of the best campus resources is tutoring for math, reading, and writing. With reading, the tutor assists in improving vocabulary skills, reading comprehension, and spelling. For writing, tutoring gets into detail with thesis statements, essays, research papers, and grammar and mechanics. Lastly, there are tutors for all types and levels of math, so there is no need to worry about failing a math course. At CCBC, the tutor service will match up students with the right tutor, who can sometimes be a professional or even a peer. Tutor request forms are available in the Student Success Center. Tutoring is also available online through OWL (Online Writing Lab) and ELMO (Essex Learning Math Online). People at CCBC are eager to help any student that needs assistance.

Other campus resources include counseling, child care, career services, academic advisement, and SIMON. Counseling is for any student that wants to talk something out with a professional. Child care is a convenient and affordable resource for moms and dads going to school; while they're in class, the little one can be learning something at daycare. With academic advising, the adviser helps schedule classes, find scholarships, map out the two-year plan for graduation, find transfer schools, and register students for placement tests. SIMON is where students can find all of their records, from transcripts to final grades. A student can register for classes, drop or add classes, check midterm and final grades, and view his or her schedule and financial aid awards. It's all there! Even if a person doesn't want to make an appointment on campus to register for classes, he or she can do it online using SIMON.

  • End-of-the-year cookout/celebration: Every year, CCBC rewards its students for their hard work. This is sort of a goodbye for the students who are transferring in the fall. There is usually grilled food, games, moon bounces, live performances, face painting, and contests. The students have a blast!
  • Job fairs: Job fairs are a big hit at CCBC. Job fairs are for students seeking employment anywhere in Baltimore County. Not only are there jobs at the job fairs, but there are also internships.
