Campus Resources: The only resources I have utilized on campus would be the student center and the library.

Both of these resources are very helpful. From taking tests assigned from online classes or final exams in the student centers, I've had no complaints on that department. The workers are friendly and quick with getting students in and taking their exams.

The library was mostly used for quiet studying between classes. I've checked out very few books on just personal interests. It was mostly for research papers and what not. Definitely a pleasant experience in the library though, the workers are nice and will answer your questions adequately.

Campus Resources: No need using the public library or gym, all you need is on campus.

Campus Resources: I love the campus library database. They have all types of resources for writing a paper and doing research. Plus the librarians are always available to help.

Campus Resources: I don't like that printing is not included in our tuition and the printing labs can be a bit confusing to some, but other than that is very quick and reliable (if you can find an available computer).

One of the best campus resources is tutoring for math, reading, and writing. With reading, the tutor assists in improving vocabulary skills, reading comprehension, and spelling. For writing, tutoring gets into detail with thesis statements, essays, research papers, and grammar and mechanics. Lastly, there are tutors for all types and levels of math, so there is no need to worry about failing a math course. At CCBC, the tutor service will match up students with the right tutor, who can sometimes be a professional or even a peer. Tutor request forms are available in the Student Success Center. Tutoring is also available online through OWL (Online Writing Lab) and ELMO (Essex Learning Math Online). People at CCBC are eager to help any student that needs assistance.

Other campus resources include counseling, child care, career services, academic advisement, and SIMON. Counseling is for any student that wants to talk something out with a professional. Child care is a convenient and affordable resource for moms and dads going to school; while they're in class, the little one can be learning something at daycare. With academic advising, the adviser helps schedule classes, find scholarships, map out the two-year plan for graduation, find transfer schools, and register students for placement tests. SIMON is where students can find all of their records, from transcripts to final grades. A student can register for classes, drop or add classes, check midterm and final grades, and view his or her schedule and financial aid awards. It's all there! Even if a person doesn't want to make an appointment on campus to register for classes, he or she can do it online using SIMON.

  • End-of-the-year cookout/celebration: Every year, CCBC rewards its students for their hard work. This is sort of a goodbye for the students who are transferring in the fall. There is usually grilled food, games, moon bounces, live performances, face painting, and contests. The students have a blast!
  • Job fairs: Job fairs are a big hit at CCBC. Job fairs are for students seeking employment anywhere in Baltimore County. Not only are there jobs at the job fairs, but there are also internships.
