Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Success at TCNJ is a matter of personal motivation and work. Thus, it is appropriate to say that a student gets what he or she makes of it. There are excellent professors at TCNJ, abundant resources, and a student-centered atmosphere ripe for the picking. Opportunities to study abroad, great lab materials, and helpful advisers among other things make TCNJ stand out as a top school in the state of New Jersey. While it is mainly academic- and achievement-oriented, TCNJ offers plenty of opportunities for networking and socialization.

The school's curriculum and comprehensive, student-focused professorial approach not only gives students the information they need, but it also helps them develop expanded skills to digest important information and engage in a dialogue. The information in classes is engaging and important to the student's life—not just a matter of memorization. This conceptual understanding is underlined by the emphasis on students pushing hard and learning topics on their own, in addition to classwork. While each college caters to a personality, any student can adapt to the TCNJ ethic. The school's style of education helps tremendously and allows for new perspectives on matters in life. It is truly not just an academic experience, but one of maturation and character development.
