1 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: there is NOTHING to do in this area. it takes at least 15 minutes to get to nearby malls or something and you will definitely need a ride . Id rather go hang out at Rutgers or new york city during the weekends.

1 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The local area is not good. While Trenton is the county seat, the area is unsafe. The locals often are upset with the college students because of the off campus housing situation. The off campus housing is situated in neighborhoods where the majority of the residents are not college students. TCNJ is located in Ewing, N.J., part of the greater Trenton area. It is surrounded by Trenton, Lawrenceville, Hamilton, Yardley (Pa.), and Morrisville (Pa.). Princeton and New Hope are a short drive away. Overall, Ewing maintains a quaint, suburban atmosphere. The areas nearest to the College are home to many of the school's fraternity and sorority houses (rented by fraternity/sorority members themselves). The Quaker Bridge Mall and nearby shopping centers are frequented by students. Nearby, the MarketFair mall and movie theater in Princeton also offer some places where students go for outings. Other bars such as the Firkin Tavern and Slocum's (which is also a bowling alley) are also frequented by students.

The town of Ewing is located between Philadelphia and New York City. Nearby rail stations in Trenton and Hamilton offer easy access to students who wish to go sightseeing in either of these cities. Furthermore, these train stations offer facilitated transport to students seeking to go home for holidays. A short drive across the Delaware River is New Hope, Pa., where students can visit a variety restaurants and oddball shops.
