4 College Junior

Health & Safety: TCNJ police is a lot better than Ewing's police!

Health & Safety: The police are on campus and have buttons to push if we feel unsafe. The health center, I've never been too.

Health & Safety: Campus police are friendly and generally helpful. Alerts are always sent out via text or email when something is going on in the area, crime wise. Health services is often unhelpful. It is difficult to get an appointment unless you call and say you have a sore throat, as they always make room for sore throats. However, even if you have an appointment, you have to wait at least 20 minutes in the waiting room. The doctors are friendly but often just prescribe antibiotics for no reason.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: It's the type of campus that feels very safe even when traveling to different areas off campus.

TCNJ Student Health Services offers a comprehensive variety of services to students including checkups, Planned Parenthood, physical examinations, prescriptions, referrals, and counseling services. Student Health Services also offers a student health insurance plan through Bollinger Insurance that covers many basic needs and is accepted at nearby hospitals. TCNJ Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) also offers therapy sessions and referrals for students struggling with depression and other difficulties. Student Health Services also offers prevention education for diseases, mental illnesses, and other traumas, as well as smoking cessation information.

TCNJ is a relatively safe campus, due to the work of campus police and other programs such as the Alcohol & Drug Education Program (ADEP). Campus police offer bicycle and property registration, escort services, and emergency aid to all students. There are emergency call-boxes located near every building on campus for students to use. Finally, TCNJ offers emergency security and health text messaging updates to all students who register.
