College Sophomore

Athletics: There is not an athletic scene or facility on campus.

Drug Safety: The students on campus are relatively older for the most part and are either on their way to a second profession or highly involved getting their doctorate degree. The Orange County norm is pretty conservative for the most part, especially being such an older/responsible crowd. I personally don't do drugs or drink alcohol however, my friends and family do. The students on campus do talk about going out for a drink every now and then, but seem to shun anyone who does or has partaken in drugs.

Parking: Parking is completely free, if in complex during day you may need to get a pass to put in window to not get towed or a ticket but other than that it's really not a big deal. You may need to walk a little from your spot, but I've always found a spot relatively close to the building.

Campus Housing: There is no campus housing available, however, you may be able to live in the thousands of apartments nearby and are in walking distance. If choose to live with roommates most of them well most likely be younger and in school and UC Irvine. And besides I hear it's a little pricey to live in the area but that all depends on what you can afford.

Health & Safety: It is a very safe place to be at all times. There is a security officer in the lobby of the building my school is located in. And there is a secruity/parking person monitoring the parking around the complex.

Local Atmosphere: People are nice to me in general, probably because I'm Caucasian and have a disability. However, their are a lot of white and Asian people around my area/campus. We are in a building structure close to UC Irvine. Orange County is very white and very conservative. It has it's own unique lifestyle compared to LA county. I live in Long Beach on the cusp of both counties, and LA is way more liberal. So I think it all depends on your preference. For me with the 3 campuses in So Cal, Irvine is the most feasible due to traffic reasons for me. Westwood and Downtown LA have horrible parking and the traffic is ridiculous especially since week day classes start at 5pm.

Computers: There are a few computers in the lab. Most people bring their laptops to school, the technical department provides free internet service, software needed for specific classes, and free spy ware for your computer to use for personal desktop and laptop

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The program prepares me for my field with internship opportunities/future employment, the workload and curriculum are useful for basic information for the field and what to prepare for.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Curriculum based on fundamentals toward profession

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Professors scholared in their field of study

Diversity: Ethnic/racial diversity is amazing. In my cohort of about 13 students mostly female in my applied clinical psychology doctorate program we have, 4 Caucasians, 2 Latinos, 3 Asians (2 male), and 3 African Americans (1 male). I am not aware of any other specifics outside of gender and ethnicity/race.
