2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are no sporting activities available to students at the Art Institute of Charleston. The library is fairly small and very limited on the types of books that are provided. When it comes to campus activities, student affairs does try to entertain students, but they are never exciting and fun-filled as universities to be such an expensive school.

Campus Resources: There are plenty, readily available computer labs on campus, however, because student housing is not on school campus, I think students should be loaned laptops with necessary software upon graduation. The printing labs are okay, but there should be more than one printer, especially during midterm and finals' week. The internet works fairly well.

Career Services: One year after attending the Art Institute, I began to notice not many students who were near graduation had an exact plan/outlook on what they were going to do with their future. Not many professors could help as promised either. Honestly,I am not sure if there is a career center, but they do have job fairs once or twice a year. I have heard a few success stories, but not from many students from the Charleston facility.

Online Courses: I have not taken online classes

Campus Resources: We have no campus activites, athletics. Our library is small and our general campus is sucky

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Networking and reliability is bad, computers and internet are always down

3 College Senior

Facilities: Facilities are decent, there no where to study or sit. we have no lawn or campus food area. nothing to exciting

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is reasonable and financial aid is very helpful

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Classe dont always have anything to do with your degree and the teachers just dont care. In Culinary we always have journals and basic classes. Our teachers dont give much instruction during the class. We recieve our recipes then head to work

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: professers and teahers dont listn to what you have to say. IF theres a problem or concern you handle it yourself

4 College Senior

Career Services: Career services are very willing to work with you. and constantly post and advertise new opportunitys

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The school does not offer any sports or activities, just the basics art club, photography etc. nothing that the student care for and they dont have proper staff, teachers are never willng to listen to what you have to say

3 College Senior

Student Body: The Student here dont have much interest in coming to class the teachers dont cooperate with us and dont help is in the process

2 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: My School experience has been very poor considering the classes i am enrolled in are not in my major and have nothing to to with my degree but they are required

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: All of the classes I have taken have been related to my major. AI has really helped by loading the classes geared toward my major and only "sprinkling" in the general education classes. This helps to keep my interest and focus on my major. I have taken classes that I didn't think would be related to my major but after being in the class I can relate it to Graphic Design.

4 College Junior

Student Body: There is a wide range of students at AI. There are recent high school graduates as well as older students such as retired military, professionals with full-time jobs and families. They also come from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

College Junior

Career Services: I have not used these services as I am only starting my second year.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have not taken any online classes with The Art Institute.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The networks at AI are constantly down and the resources are no more than that of what you have at home. The only reason I would use the computers at school would be for adobe software

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The facilities on campus are non existent, we have a pretty good library for resources related to art but that's about it. Computer labs for daily class or after class work are another exception.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: Art Institute...My Outlook – My school was okay. Nothing to brag over though because i feel as though the knowledge i obtained while at the art institute,i could have recieved elsewhere. However i did meet a great amount of wonderful people that i dont think i could have met anywhere else.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Absolutely WONDERFUL – I am a transfer student, and although the process of transferring itself were difficult, all of my credits transferred. And when I had a question about a non credit class that did not transfer over, the dean handled it for me right away. Trusting my word that the classes were identical just had different names and he fixed my degree audit right away

3 College Senior

Career Services: I am soon to be graduating, and the career center said they would be in touch, but I have yet to hear from them. The staff is always encouraging us to go talk to them about future job openings and what not but I thought the center would be more upfront about helping the students out.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The teachers here are knowledgeable, however sometimes the information is not always presented clearly. Or there are gaps in the information we obtain.

4 College Senior

Career Services: Job Prospects Are Saturated – Charleston is full of Graphic Designers. This creates a saturated market, that can be difficult to breach into. The school attempts a easing this, and seems to be a fairly competent job. Sometimes, however, the students are not marketed as strongly as they might be capable of.
