Off-Campus Dining: With so many "mom and pop" shops maintaining such a high standard the other competition "i.e. chain restaurants" must also maintain an unprecedented standard of excellence, meaning the bathrooms are generally spotless, the servers are always fast and responsive, the food is fresh and prompt, but enough about the run of the mill chain eateries. San Marcos has a plethora of home grown organic and "human friendly" eateries, all with freindly and amazing service.

Off-Campus Dining: I don't personally eat off campus or on campus. I have my own apartment so I cook at home. Most of the restaurants or food joints are fast food. There are a few other options like Chinese food, Mexican, and Italian. There are several decent sandwich shops. They also have some pretty cool food trucks but I heard they can be pricey. There are a few bars and yogurt or smoothie shops nearby. Also there are plenty of places that sell coffee and breakfast foods. Like I said all are close to campus but I have yet to try all of them.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: i rarely dine off campus. i do not have the time. i am indifferent.

Off-Campus Dining: It is Texas, so everything there is is food

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Its okay not to many choices in the town my school is in but if you drive about 30 minutes to the major city there are a lot of good choices.

You know you'll eventually get tired of on-campus dining, or at least you'll be wanting something a bit healthier. Well, you are in luck because San Marcos has an excellent selection of restaurants to choose from.

Although there may be a lot of Mexican food around (and good Mexican food, at that), there are also many other types of food to choose from: fast food burgers, Chinese buffets, sushi, pasta, burritos, steaks, and much more. And, as Texas State continues to grow, so does the San Marcos community. This means that there are more and more stores and restaurants wanting to do business here.
