Campus Strictness: Very strict parking area .

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Not too strict. Just right.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus is strict but it also allows you to be your own person.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Just like every other public University campus, I would say.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They're very strict about substance abuse, especially in dorms. Attendance depends on the teacher. Parking rules seem like every other college but violating them can be really expensive. I've never been affected and don't often hear about anybody else being affected so I think it's not that bad.

The campus strictness at Texas State is pretty relaxed. As long as you aren't doing illegal acts, you won't really feel the pressure of the rules on campus.

Dorms are probably the strictest, but it depends on the dorm that you live in. Curfews are more for your own benefit than anything else, and no one will lock the dormitory door to keep you out (you are paying to live there, after all). Your RAs are pretty lenient, but, again, it depends on the dorm you are living in. Visitation rules tend to be pretty lax, as well. As long as you aren't being loud and disturbing other people, you will more or less be left alone.

Visitation Policies
You can have visitors in your dorm room, but there is no cohabitation of the rooms, meaning you can't have someone stay in your room for an extended period of time who is not on the lease contract. Keep in mind that if you have a guest stay over, you are responsible for your guest's actions, good or bad. All halls have 24-hour visitation, except for Elliott, Jackson, Lantana, Laurel, and Retama; these halls' hours are Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-12 a.m., Friday 10 a.m.-2 a.m., Saturday 12 p.m.-2 a.m., and Sunday 12 p.m.-12 a.m.
