3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining halls are alright. At Commons, it's sort of a hit-or-miss. Sometimes their food is great and other times, not so much. The pizza on campus is good. We have Panda Express in Jones. We also have Chik-fil-a which is really popular.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: They are dining halls, they are the best they could be but I think the food could be better.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: My campus dining experience consists of only one visit but based on the experience I gathered that the overall quality of the food and dining was very accessible, clean, organized, and diverse.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: At first, the food was awesome and it felt as if we had so many options to choose from. However, as the year progressed the food here began to feel repetitive and unappealing.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: Pretty bland most of the time with many chain restaurants with few healthy options. Some dining halls have mediocre salad options

Texas State has a variety of food choices. There are two buffets on campus, and both have a special grill where you can request food like omelets and stir-fry made the way you like it. Every dining hall has either a salad bar or a place where you can have a gourmet salad made for you. Texas State tries to provide some healthier options for on-campus dining. The most popular food court, and the one open the latest, is Jones Dining Hall.

Since prices are a bit high without a meal plan, if you don't live on campus, you may want to pack your own lunch. The other option would be just to get a meal plan, which isn't too expensive. You can start using your meal trades at 10:30 a.m. at the Lair, while at all other places you can use meal trades as soon as they open.
