Guys & Girls: There are plenty of different types of guys on campus. There are you average joes and some not-so-average people. Everyone has beauty to them. The dress is usually either really relaxed or really dressed up. For social life, you can always find a group of people in the Quad either supporting something, talking, preaching, singing, having fun, or just hanging out.

Facilities: I work at our student center at Texas State University San Marcos and I love it. The library is a great place to get away and study, everyone is friendly. Our green spaces in between the buildings are absolutely beautiful when I have free time I always go to sit in the grass.

Drug Safety: I don't know of any students that partake in drug use. I know of a few underage students who partake in drinking but never on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I like my major, I love the classes I'm taking. I want to teach history to high school students. I try to have 16 hours each semester. I recently started working at a program that I was accepted to when I first applied to college. The adivising and facilities are great for what I am majoring in.

Academics: The registration process is quite easy as long as you talk to an advisor before hand, if you don't know what you need to take, they do. There is always a workload but it's worth it. Popular studying areas mainly consist of our Alkek Library, it has six floors that you can study at and a seventh floor that is a small art gallery.

Overall Experience: Ever since I was little I knew I was going to go to Texas State. My sister went here when she had to go to college and she would bring me when I was younger and we'd spend time in the library quite a bit. I just knew this school was for me.

Greek Life: I rarely hear about Greek things going on, mainly I just kind of see it as I walk by. Some greeks live in their own Greek housing, others remain in the dorms or in apartment complex with a Greek roommate. Greek students are seen differently than non-Greeks, but they look at us differently as well.

Athletics: I have a few friends in different sports clubs, they have to be the ones to put out that they are having events coming up. You rarely hear about them, but it is often posted everywhere that we are having a football game on saturdays.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The process of the financial aid wasn't exactly a hassle but more of getting Work Study is a hassle.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: After a while, food places do get a tad old but we have enough variety in San Marcos.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus police are very nice, funny, and know when to be serious. They regulate around the dorms and apartments often, keeping an eye out for things unusual.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I live off campus but my apartment complex is still affiliated with the school so we do have stricter rules but I absolutely love where I live.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: There is never any parking on campus. Usually commuters and even students have to park off campus and have to go on the tram system to get on and off campus. Permit cost is very high & fines aren't too bad. You don't really need a car at all on campus, just mainly getting to the campus.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: When you walk on this campus, no two people are the same. I have friends of all different racial diversities, economic backgrounds, political and relgional beliefs, along with sexual orientation.

5 College Sophomore

Weather: It is usually sunny during the school day. We usually have a good about of rain storms, but a lot less than most schools.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There is a great variety of food on campus. Almost anything you want, except BBQ.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I love it in San Marcos. You can always find something to do whether it is going on a hike, bowling, or going to the square.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: On the Texas State University San Marcos campus we have a number of computer labs and on campus printing. If I cannot print at home I know I can at the school.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I love off campus dinning their is so many places to chose from, and the prices are good to so even on a budget me and my friends are able to go off and eat something different every now and than if we wanted too.

5 College Freshman

Computers: I haven't had a problem with computer use, I have my own lap top but im mostly in the library using their computers so you don't really need your own if you cant afford it. Computers are always available and wifi is always on around campus so I really have no problem connecting when I need it on my phone or laptop.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Our dinning halls at our campus are great they have different kinds of food everyday and for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also they serve healthy food so it doesn't make you feel as youre going to part of the freshmen 15. Overall I love our dinning halls here at Texas State.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I don't drink or do drugs, so I really have no insight to this topic.

College Freshman

Weather: I can't really control the weather. It has been really rainy and cold the past few days.

Guys & Girls: There are many different kinds of guys here at Texas State. The diversity makes it easy to meet many different kinds of people.

Campus Strictness: Overall, campus strictness hasn't been too hard follow.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
