Transportation: I'm pretty sure the campus shuttle cost was covered in our tuition, so I really don't know how much I paid for it, but it does help a lot of people out. Now, if you want to go out of the city and go see some other cool places, then you really need your own car.

Weather: The weather changes constantly! I'm not sure if I like it to much, but I do attend a university at Texas. The weather here is not frankly reliable.

Computers: The computers, the network reliability, speed, and the wireless access is super great to me since I don't have to pay for internet or wait around too long to have access on a computer. The best part is that we get free printing so it makes my life way easier!

Drug Safety: I do not believe the campus I go it is Drug and Alcohol safe. Drugs and alcohol are super easy to find and they are used by over half of my campus. It's really sad. Plus, people come in the next day to class looking like they had the time of their night, the night before and always brag about it to everyone.
Peer pressure is a maybe there, simply because you really don't get pressured into doing anything. People just do it. And the policy enforcement is there, but is totally not respected.

Scholarships: At first, I did struggle with financial aid and it was probably because I really didn't get any help with it. At first, I had to pay tuiton out of pocket because they still did not have the money they needed to pay my tuition, but after a month or so i got my money back. Sadly, I did not try getting scholarships at the school, but I really am in huge need of them.

Nightlife: Since I have started college, I have not attended a party at all. I always tend to leave out of town or I'm always working so I don't have much say so in the nightlife category.

Guys & Girls: The way people dress in in a relaxable attire which we all feel comfortable in since the campus has so many hills and steps everywhere you go. Everyone is pretty nice and the diversity there is super great! One thing about these people and that most of them love to party so they are always trying to get Friday classes off just so they can have a three day weekend. Other than that, the atmosphere and the people are really sweet.

Guys & Girls: The typical people is too diverse to pinpoint any specific type. You imagine it and Texas State has it!

Greek Life: They basically think they are above everyone else and too good.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a number of locally owned restraunts that are wonderful. The best breakfast tacos and Mexican food for sure.

Computers: The allkek library is usually always overcrowded, but the derrek building always has open spots available!!

Scholarships: I had many problems with financial aid. I had to request an independent form which took nearly 2 weeks to come in. Besides the wait everything else went good.

Majors: I do not believe I had to meet any criteria for going into my major.

Majors: I have not experienced an internship.

Weather: The weather is good! If only it would get colder...

Campus Housing: I live in sterry, which is one of the oldest dorms at Texas State. Besides the stinkiness and oldness I really do not mind because I am happy just to have somewhere to stay while I pursue my career in criminal justice.

Health & Safety: There are always police men/women literally EVERYWHERE. Which I love and personally think is necessary.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I have had no experiences with strictness. My dorm at least tends to let everyone do whatever they would like including making noise and messing around in the lobbies.

Parking: The parking is so ridiculous. They oversold the permits and I have to park by the stadium, which is 2 miles away from the main campus and dmy dorm. Everyone waits until someone walks out to the parking lot and the proceeds to stalk them to their car! Just outrageous

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Basically everyone drinks, and advertises on facebook that there will be big parties with alcohol. Peer pressure is not too bad when you are actually in a sports group, you have a reason to decline, such as we have to play the next morning!

Facilities: There are tons of events, but things such as sports club seem to be cliquey.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The facilities are the best I have ever seen! We even have the highest rock wall in texas, how cool is that?

Athletics: The athletic facilities are so wonderful! Everything is kept in good condition and the rec is by far the best in the state.

Overall Experience: Overall it is a good school. I like the ambiance and all but its just some things here can really get on my nerves. Such as the food or the bundle of racist people that walk the campus. But fact of the matter is, it is kind of a good thing that all of that is here. That's life. Everyone's not always going to be nice to you and your choices aren't always going to be there.

Campus Dining: It absolutely sucks. I came here in hopes of being exposed to a healthier lifestyle but turns out the food is 10 times worse than back home. The only thing that is not smothered in butter and seasoning is the salad bar. My diet can't only consist of lettuce and cucumber. I need lean protein but the only thing they offer is pizza and burgers.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
