3 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors all offer office hours for anyone that needs help. The registration process it crappy the lower your classification is but the higher you come up, the better it gets..

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There's a lot of random restaurants around. Tons of mexican food.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking permit rules are very confusing, so when in doubt, buy some type of permit.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: We have shuttles that take you to Austin and San Antonio that aren't too expensive. But having your own car is the easiest thing.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: There are tons of computer labs on campus and printing is FREE! The wifi and internet is great most of the time, it just tends to go a little slower during finals.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our teams are that great yet. People always pack the very first few games of the season but it definitely fizzles out as the season goes on.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love the campus and how its in a nice size city, not to big or too small.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: We have a huge outlet mall about 5 minutes away from campus so a lot of students work there and go there to shop.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There's a Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express but you'll get tired of it or not want to keep eating it a lot but they have 2 buffets that are okay, the hours are just not good.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The financial aid office is helpful with answering any questions you many have. But receiving financial aid for myself is quite a struggle and not as convenient as I'd like it to be.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There are quite a number of dining halls that are available to students and they offer most of what students want. As for healthy options, there aren't really that many to choose from. The same for vegetarians.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Some of the professors are great while others make you wonder how they ended up being teachers in the first place.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm a business management major and I love it. I find the classes I take to be very useful and the professors helpful. Texas State makes me love my major!

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We do have crime around campus but police are patrolling the streets on the weekends and making sure there's nothing that could harm innocent students

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I like living on campus simply because it's close to my classes and it motivates me to attend classes. I love my dorm and the atmosphere it has.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The internship experience I've had last summer was one of the best. My coworkers and manager were very welcoming and I looked forward to going to work every day. The pay was great and the responsibilities I had were very easy and fast to learn for the position I had. If I could do my internship all over again, I would! I loved it and was sad when I had to leave for school.

Overall Experience: I fell in love with the Campus when I went to visit and I couldn't see myself anywhere else. I do believe coming to Texas State was one of the best decisions I've ever made and I'm proud to say I attend that school!! I love showing off my school pride!

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life has a huge impact on Texas State Campus. The Greeks are known for the parties they throw and aren't really seen in a positive light.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: My school is lenient unless it comes to drug use/underage drinking in dorms

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Texas State is very diverse with backgrounds/races

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There's always something to do on the weekends!!

College Student

Parking: I don't park anywhere at the campus.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
