Student Body at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: My school generally consists of hardworking low income families and individuals, despite of how hard their situation is they continue to strive for an education that will allow them to have a better life.

Student Body at Texas State Technical College - Waco: My school is split in half, adults starting on a second career or coming back for a new one, and the rest are fresh out of highschool young adults. I enjoy it here, the older generation is something i can look up to.... i feel like i fall right in the middle, im young enough to be considered a young adult, but yet with my life experience, i feel like an old person.

Academic Flexibility at Texas State Technical College - Waco: The reason i chose this school is because theyre so serious about getting theyre students ready for the work feild. This is my first semester here and im really enjoying it. The teachers are always willing to help, even if its with another subject.I didnt like how they switched my class from one day to another without asking first.

Academic Experience at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: I am in the health professions program. There isn't alot of help, as this major usually transfers out after core classes. There isn't alot of help with scholarships that aren't specific to the school. There isn't alot of focus to anything that isn't related to the nursing program.

Academic Experience at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: Financial aid department isn't the most helpful. They just want to get bodies in and get the government money. They took away a scholarship I was awarded and notified about because they didn't have funding.

Academic Experience at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: i am going to be a biomed tech. I am very excited but was very disappointed to not get as much hands on work as i thought i would.

Academic Experience at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: I love the size of the classes but did not like that we did not have enough one on one time with the professor to beable to ask questions that are able to be asked during lecture time

3 College Senior

Student Body at Texas State Technical College - West Texas: Only really had contact with nursing students since all the classes are specific to the program. Loved most of them, few drama spurts

Career Services at Texas State Technical College - Waco: I am happy with this grade, but I worked a fulltime job this semester. I would like to have an 4.0.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Texas State Technical College - Waco: Overall I have been very satisfied with the price of classes, the ease of the financial aid process, the help of the friendly staff and the ease of requesting grants and additional financial help. I requested a grant over the phone and they were able to give me the addional funds just for asking since my gpa was high and they could see i was doing my best. I am also very happy that I can come in on my days off and practice and use the materials which are amply supplied, and since its all included in the tuition its beneficial for the students to use the material every chance they get since practicing after school with your own materials can get pricey. i.e...welding machine, welding rods&gases, metal.

Academic Flexibility at Texas State Technical College - Waco: While attending two semesters in a welding class offered through our local community college, I learned there were many opportunities with job placements in the welding field by attending a reputable and recognized school for trades, specifically at Texas State Technical College. I have been at TSTC for two semesters now and am about to start my third. My classes have been Monday through Thursday with an hour and half lunch break. The academic work load is reasonable and doable. Fridays and my weekends have been open for work. I have a one bedroom apartment located just five minutes away. Anything I need throughout the week is close at hand including grocery stores, fast food, and various department stores. From time to time I've found myself a bit worried about my studies and have gone to my instructors about my concerns. I quickly learned that the instructors were a great help and encouragement. I have given my all and spent all my extra time in the labs getting extra practice which has earned me a 4.0 this semester. The only issues I've had with this school so far are: The lighting in the labs need improvement. The ventilation system could use some upgrading. Some of the information in the theory and tests here and there need correction and further explanation. And, sometimes the instructors need to be more readily available for the students in the labs when they have questions or projects that need grading. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience at TSTC and am feeling more and more prepared for obtaining profitable employment in the future.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience at Texas State Technical College - West Texas: Everything is pretty quick easy and the staff is very helpful. the small student body gives it a B+ because there isnt many extra activities to do with not many students wanting to do them nor having time with most of them having families

Career Services at Texas State Technical College - Waco: Well I havn't got to this part yet, but most of the students are finding things jobs on there own.

Campus Resources at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: The network is only available inside or really close to buildings. The speed is sometimes really slow, depending on where you are located. For example my program's building has really slow internet access, meanwhile the cafeteria is above-average speed.

Online Courses at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen: I personally do not like taking online courses, i feel they are lacking the one to one communciation needed with the professors.
