Local Atmosphere: Fort Worth is an amazing city. There is all different kinds of things to do. You have the Stockyards with Billy Bob's (that has a TCU night) and the Rodeo. Downtown which is nearby is full of restaurants, movie theaters, and art museums. There is a lot of shopping malls to go to that are very close to the campus. Fort Worth restaurants around the campus give students discounts (especially on Purple Friday's during football season). Stores, salons, and auto places also give us discounts.

The Fort Worth area satisfies the immediate needs of most TCU students. Fort Worth has restaurants, bars, clubs, and movie theaters close to campus, so students don’t have to go too far for entertainment. Even though it's a large city, the small-town atmosphere blends well with the University, making it a good environment for students to work and play. Fort Worth may seem cramped to someone used to a smaller town, and a bit behind the times for someone from a larger city but, overall, it is a good environment for college students.

For students who want a different experience or a change of scenery, nearby cities such as Dallas and Arlington provide more entertainment and activities. The Metroplex area is a short drive from campus and offers shopping, museums, gardens, festivals, clubs, and other tourist destinations. TCU shares the Metroplex area with a few other universities and smaller local colleges, but each school tends to keep to itself.
