4 College Freshman

Computers: I don't personally use school computers because I came with my own. The wifi is campus wide and so it isn't necessarily strong.

4 College Freshman

Computers: It seems that nearly everyone has their own computer. There are also many places to use campus computers, especially at the library.

3 College Freshman

Computers: You have to pay to use the library computers, and there's really only the computers in the library for public use. Everyone I know has a laptop and just uses the library computers when their own laptop is broken or they need to print something. Pretty average.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Computer labs are great. You get 200 free prints. The network isn't always reliable and it isn't the fastest or anything, but it'll do. Wireless printers don't really cooperate with the network. Personal computers are DEFINITELY NEEDED. You can get away with not having a printer.

4 College Freshman

Computers: I was able to get to computer anytime I needed. they even have laptops you can checkout if yours breaks or if computer labs are to crowded which never happens

Students and professors regularly use the network as a means of communication. Students have access to a program called eCollege, which allows them to supplement the classroom experience with discussions online, or turn in assignments via the Internet, rather than print them out. This service also provides students with an online gradebook that keeps track of their progress. There are numerous computer labs on campus, though they sometimes fill up completely.

Aside from the occasional technical lapses, the TCU network is fairly reliable and consistent. The Computer Help Desk offers a wide variety of services and tech support. The network occasionally shuts down, but not frequently, and usually only for a few hours at a time. The Computer Help Desk is a good resource for students to utilize when things go wrong, and when it comes to computers, things often do.
