Campus Strictness: Campus strictness is reasonable and has a very common sense approach to it.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Haven't had a problem where food is concerned.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: The focus isn't on drugs, the campus is a very positive atmosphere.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: There is always something to do on campus or in Fort Worth.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: I love that our campus accepts so many different people and cultures. It's made the whole experience better than I expected.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There's not too much to worry about on campus, but TCU is in the worst part of Fort Worth. As long as you're careful you don't need to worry too much. Don't walk alone

Local Atmosphere: Fort Worth has internationally famous museums. Amazing opportunities for fine arts. Lots of major sports teams around. My favorite city in the world

3 College Freshman

Computers: You have to pay to use the library computers, and there's really only the computers in the library for public use. Everyone I know has a laptop and just uses the library computers when their own laptop is broken or they need to print something. Pretty average.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I guess it's pretty average once you figure out what you want to do. The academic advising is terrible; if you don't exactly follow the normal track then you get shuffled off to other advisers, none of which are really helpful

Athletics: TCU has a lot of fairweather fans; people show up to the games but off the field, people don't actively show their school spirit a lot. Fort Worth is very supportive of TCU varsity sports

Diversity: There is pretty much no diversity, anywhere. Fort Worth can be pretty diverse, and there are technically diverse students at TCU, but you never ever see them around or get to meet them

Off-Campus Dining: I'm from Fort Worth and I have a car, so I go all over town to places I know for lunch a lot. There are plenty of options if you look around or ask someone who's from around town

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I only hear occasionally of people using drugs; I don't really personally know anyone who does

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of off-campus housing is available at varying distances in different types of neighborhoods

Most students at TCU are pleased with their education and the opportunities presented to them. While diversity continues to be an issue on campus, strong academics, good facilities, and countless organizations play a larger role in student life. To most students, TCU offers a strong academic foundation in a lively setting. Fort Worth and Dallas provide endless entertainment, while campus police and Froggie Five-O do their best to protect and serve the students on TCU’s campus. Students have a wide variety of living options, providing them with a great environment while earning their educations.

Don't be fooled by the name: TCU isn’t a stuffy church school. It’s a place where students are encouraged to try new things and branch out. A few numerous organizations—Greek ones in particular—tend to discriminate between social groups, but the overall student body is quite friendly. Academically, students are eager to learn, and a small student-faculty ratio allows students to interact closely with each of their professors. In the long run, many TCU students truly appreciate the campus for what it is and tend to view it as an experience like no other. It sure is good to be a Horned Frog!
