4 College Freshman

Athletics: Varsity sports are huge, especially football since we entered the Big 12 this year. The games are always fun to attend.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: From the Speedway to other sports complexes, Six Flags, clean down town, and fairs there is never any boredom in Fort Worth

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus is relatively good at TCU. There are a number of nice apartments and there is lots of rental homes. The proximity is nice and safe.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls of TCU are all kind and welcoming.

Transportation: The transportation at TCU is prompt, convenient and cheap.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There aren't as many classes as larger public universities have.. not as much of the "fun" and "interesting" classes, but its a top notch school for academics regardless.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life dominates. Most people that are active on campus at all are Greek.

Parking: There is parking on campus for everyone... if you are willing to walk. The normal parking lots fill up fast and you may have to park in overflow. So if you are a commuter, get there early. If you live on campus and your lot fills up.. you may have to walk 15-20 minutes to get to your dorm.

Majors: You are able to enter the program as long as the university admits you to the school. Research methods 1 & 2 are hard and will weed some people out but the major is generally easy as long as you put the work in and stay on top of it.

Majors: Classes are very diverse. Professors come from all walks of life and bring great wisdom/experiences to the classroom. Definitely a lot of internship opportunities.

Majors: As a criminal justice major, I learned a lot about different aspects of the criminal justice world, however I graduated without a concrete job opportunity. For some the program helps them discover what aspect of CJ they want to start a career in. I graduated with a knowledge of here and there and didn't feel like I was able to go down a direct path based off my education. I feel that with this degree, one must get their feet wet and learn what they are capable in a hands-on position. Great professors and fun classes.

Off-Campus Dining: Fort Worth has an array of dining offers that keep things interesting from top class restaurants downtown to the typical fast food chains known to most and we have our hometown restaurants that you won't find anywhere else.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I came to TCU to study Aerospace Engineering which i later found out they did not offer. I am now an Economics major and i believe it was a blessing in disguise. TCU has a variety of majors and courses that will be helpful to all that attend the institution. You can direct any further questions to the TCU website or the admissions office.

Athletics: With one of the best football programs in the country TCU holds athletics to a high standard, excellent facilities in top shape with the latest equipments. outstanding coaches and training staff with the credentials to prove they belong at TCU. there is no doubt that TCU is up there with the very best when it comes to athletics.

5 College Senior

Transportation: Public transportation is great around campus. Buses run all the time all over campus. Whether you live on or off campus, there is always a bus that you are able to catch to take you close to class. Along with buses, students who go to TCU get free train passes that are able to take you to and from Dallas.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Absolutely gorgeous campus. The campus is always being kept up to date, cleaned, and managed. Could not imagine a prettier campus.

Scholarships: My only complaint is that the scholarships do not adjust to the rate of tuition increase, they remain constant, which can be frustrating.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: TCU isn't too strict about things like drinking and partying but they're strict enough. RAs are really tolerant and helpful a lot of the time, you can always go to them if you need anything. Stay outta trouble and you won't have to worry about things like that ;)

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I really enjoy living on campus, the dorms are all pretty nice. The ones in the commons are nicer than the freshman dorms, but they're still good. They're kept clean all the time, and pretty spacious especially compared to other school's dorms. The dorm I'm in has a really friendly atmosphere, everyone pretty much knows eachother and the dorm is quiet when it's supposed to be. I hear other dorms dont have as good a community as Waits, and can be pretty loud even when it's past quiet hours. But it's all about preference, do you want a quiet friendly environment, or a loud party environment in a dorm?

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The Bluu is pretty good the first couple weeks of school, after that though it gets pretty repetitive and kind of old. I got tired of it pretty quickly, they have an alright variety of things, but again it gets old. There are restaurants within walking distance though and those places are pretty good if you dont want to eat in the cafeteria.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The guys are attractive haha, and for the most part friendly. The ratio of guys to girls is pretty low though. Typical frat guys and sorority girls everywhere.

2 College Freshman

Diversity: There is not much diversity at all at this school.

1 College Freshman

Drug Safety: LOTS of alcohol!! Social scene revolves around it. No one will really pressure you to drink, but you definitly will have people offering all the time. People party a litttle too hard at this school. As for drugs, I see a few people smoking or doing other drugs around campus occasionally but it's not nearly as visible as alcohol. Parties will get busted, but no one ever gets in trouble for underage drinking. They just tell you to go home.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The gym is amazing and a lot of the students go to the student union to hang out.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Market square is where everyone goes to eat. It's all you can eat, so you can go in as many times as you want throughout the day and get as much as you want. There is stir fry, a salad bar, pizza, vegetarian section, a smoothie bar, sandwich station, and soups. There are not many healthy options, but there is a wide variety of food options to choose from. The salad bar sometimes has a really long line.

Most students at TCU are pleased with their education and the opportunities presented to them. While diversity continues to be an issue on campus, strong academics, good facilities, and countless organizations play a larger role in student life. To most students, TCU offers a strong academic foundation in a lively setting. Fort Worth and Dallas provide endless entertainment, while campus police and Froggie Five-O do their best to protect and serve the students on TCU’s campus. Students have a wide variety of living options, providing them with a great environment while earning their educations.

Don't be fooled by the name: TCU isn’t a stuffy church school. It’s a place where students are encouraged to try new things and branch out. A few numerous organizations—Greek ones in particular—tend to discriminate between social groups, but the overall student body is quite friendly. Academically, students are eager to learn, and a small student-faculty ratio allows students to interact closely with each of their professors. In the long run, many TCU students truly appreciate the campus for what it is and tend to view it as an experience like no other. It sure is good to be a Horned Frog!
