Weather: Compared to the midwest it is great during the winter and spring, but the summer and fall months can get pretty hot.

Health & Safety: The health center is the worst. They have limited hours and it is hard to seek medical attention when actually sick due to the need to make appointments that fill up quickly.

Drug Safety: If you don't have any association with drugs, you can easily go through college without experiencing any drugs.

Nightlife: Greek events are dominated by all females. It is terrible. The bars are crowded and not a good place to meet people. They don't know how to party at all.

Nightlife: Parties are basically ALL girls. Usually only one frat party per night and majority of the time gets busted. Bars are crowded and only fun if you have a group of friends because everyone is super cliquey. If you are not in a sorority you will have a hard time fitting in and trying to meet new people. AKA this school does not know how to party!!! compared to the Midwest.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: The public transportation is terrible and is barely useful at all. All other forms of transportation are expensive. It is best to bring a car or have friends that have cars.

Overall Experience: I wish that I had chose a school that was not as centered around greek life. I also feel that there is a large difference in the culture of the midwest vs the south.

Most students at TCU are pleased with their education and the opportunities presented to them. While diversity continues to be an issue on campus, strong academics, good facilities, and countless organizations play a larger role in student life. To most students, TCU offers a strong academic foundation in a lively setting. Fort Worth and Dallas provide endless entertainment, while campus police and Froggie Five-O do their best to protect and serve the students on TCU’s campus. Students have a wide variety of living options, providing them with a great environment while earning their educations.

Don't be fooled by the name: TCU isn’t a stuffy church school. It’s a place where students are encouraged to try new things and branch out. A few numerous organizations—Greek ones in particular—tend to discriminate between social groups, but the overall student body is quite friendly. Academically, students are eager to learn, and a small student-faculty ratio allows students to interact closely with each of their professors. In the long run, many TCU students truly appreciate the campus for what it is and tend to view it as an experience like no other. It sure is good to be a Horned Frog!
