3 College Freshman

Majors: Honestly i don't know much about my program because I transferred here this semester.

4 College Freshman

Majors: It is good to be in a program you meet new friends and make new alliances.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: It is really good here when it comes to the greek life.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Some of the housing off campus are good and some are bad.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The drug scene is not that bad.

3 College Junior

Academics: Some professors are strict, lay-back and reasonable.

Parking: The cost is okay, in my opinion, but I stay in campus so I just park next to my dorm and I don't move my truck at all. If I do move my truck out of my parking spot, I won't be able to find a spot till maybe at night when there's people that go out. People that live off campus, they are usually having trouble finding a parking spot. I heard if you want a spot you need to go early to get one.

Parking: There is hardly any place to park when I get to school. You need to get to school earlier for a decent parking space. The permit costed way too much. There really is no need for a car on campus but I live off campus so it is necessary.

Off-Campus Housing: I still live at home and am unaware of off campus living expenses or pros and cons.

3 College Student

Transportation: The shuttle bus is great for the students living on campus and is free to use for those who pay the tuition. It is great for those who do not have any other means of transportation. It can take people to out of town if they need it to.

4 College Student

Majors: So far I have enjoyed the classes my major has to offer. The skills I have learned will most likely benefit me in the future. My workload is manageable and the facilities are usually open to use when convenient.

3 College Student

Majors: So far I am very happy with my program of study. If I could do it again I probably would to improve my skills. I plan to become a graphic designer or at least an art teacher.

4 College Student

Drug Safety: I hardly ever see anyone drinking and doing drugs in public. Every now and then I do smell weed lingering from students some the school is not completely clean. The peer pressure is pretty low from what I have seen.

3 College Student

Scholarships: The financial aid is okay but I haven't accepted any of my awards. I have been using emergency loans and the process of accepting the money is extensive and difficult.

4 College Student

Academics: The curriculum is what I need although I wish some additional classes were offered. The professors are very knowledgeable in their subjects. The registration process was simply enough and the freshman orientation will walk you through it. The workload I have received so far is manageable.

3 College Student

Weather: For south Texas, the weather has been average although lately we've been experiencing winter and summer in the same week.

4 College Student

Computers: The computers the school has in labs are very reliable. The printing is normally free and the tech service is normally helpful.

The speed for the internet is very fast but the network will turn on and off periodically.

Local Atmosphere: The local attitude towards students is good. There are not many activities that interest me around town. The only place I find worth visiting are the local movie theater and the Game Stop. Places that are good to shop for groceries and other toiletries would be the Walmart or the H.E.B..

Nightlife: I do not live on campus so I really can't describe the night life. I do go to a game club around 7 p.m. and the students who go are very interesting and fun to be around. There are clubs and bars around town but I hardly ever go. The Ranch was a good club though.

Overall Experience: I'm extremely happy! Really! I can't express how perfect this university is for me and moreover the engineering program. Everything I could ever want in an academic program, I have it. If I could do it all over again I'd stay right here at Texas A&M University- Kingsville because I wouldn't truly fit in anywhere else as I do here. Once I graduate with my masters in mechanical engineering I plan to go into aviation and assemble air crafts and anything else I can get my hands on. It's my dream and in my prayers every day and night. It would be wonderful. In regards to any concerns I have, I'm just worried about making it. I worry about the money aspects of things, it's weighing on my parents, as I'm sure it weighs on most parents paying for their child's education. I just want to earn my degree, make it to my goal, and be able to solely pay off my own college debt, not my parents.

Weather: In Kingsville you would think that there are tornadoes and thunder storm watch notices frequently since Kingsville is by the coast, well there's not. The weather is great here.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: They are always there to help you with whatever problem you may have. If it a problem higher than their knowledge they know exactly who can help you.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Here at Texas A&M University- Kingsville there isn't a noticeable "drug scene". Every school has the occasional Marijuana smokers but at our university, you can't just easily find these people. I haven't seen or heard of much drug use in my 2 years of being here.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The shuttle route is always running smoothly and on time.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I'm working on attaining more scholarships.
