Academic Flexibility: TC is affordable and close to home. I believe that's why so many students begin their college careers here! So far, I have been able to work with my advisors to schedule my classes around my work/church schedule. The curriculum is awesome. The only frustrations I've run into have been with the financial aid office, but we got everything worked out. I don't know anything about transferring credits because I haven't attempted that yet.

Academic Experience: This semester, I feel like I have a HUGE workload! Two of my classes consist of tests in essay form... and not just one essay, more like five or six. And they have to be pretty detailed. One of my classes is online, and that's a little more difficult to manage, but I'm doing okay so far. My painting class is awesome. The only thing there is that I have to get at least 42 lab hours (painting in class outside of class time). I have so much on my plate already. It's hard to find the time, but I'm surprisingly ahead! I also have a Friday class, which is new. I enjoy all of my classes, I'm just a little overwhelmed by the idea of them right now. Hopefully that will go away soon!

Academic Experience: My professors are amazing! I really love them!

Campus Resources: We don't have any sports teams (anymore). The college just cannot afford them. Some people are interested in starting some intramural sports teams, but we haven't had enough student interest/commitment to actually see it through.

We have lots of awesome clubs! The SGA is fantastic! And, we recently started a debate league.

The Pinkerton Center is excellent! There are plenty of exercise machines, basketball courts, and even racquet ball!

We have a beautiful library that has a large selection of books! They also have computers/printers for anyone in need, plus isolated areas for study. They also have a construction project in progress recognizing Ross Perot and his family. In addition to all of that, they have a tutoring program in one section of the library.

Campus Resources: We have plenty of computers on campus. The library is probably the best place to go for that, though. You have to be in a BCIS class to be able to use the lab in the Business building (if there is a way around that, I don't know about it). Printing cost is only ten cents a page, but that can add up, so if you have your own printer, you should use it. It's good to know you have a back-up, though!

The internet is great. I love having wireless on campus. The only issue I've run into is that I cannot access my student email while on campus... I can at home, but not on campus.

Facilities: Our facilities could use some updating. You can't really tell that there is a college until you get right up on it. I think better visibility and more color would help!

Tuition & Financial Aid: There have been a lot of miscommunication errors with my financial aid these past few semesters. However, they were going through some staff changes in this department, at the time, so that may account for those errors. I really hope so!

Online Courses: This semester I took my very first online course. I probably won't take another one. It wasn't bad... It just wasn't for me. I prefer the class discussions. I get more out of that.

Career Services: I haven't graduated from TC yet, but it has been a great experience. The teachers are excellent. They always find ways to challenge you and see things from another perspective. They aren't necessarily trying to get you to agree with another pony of view, but they help you see why people see things the way they do. Of course I'm focusing on the government teachers. They are fantastic!

Overall Experience: Texarkana College recognizes The Virtual College of Texas's credits, making attendance possible for those of us who cannot physically attend school.

Academic Experience: The nursing program at Texarkana College is very competetive. The requirements for admission have to be unwaiveringly met and once accepted it, the cirriculum is hard and fast.

Academic Flexibility: I am a full time student, a full time single parent and a full time employee. The combination of The Virtual College of Texas and Texarkana College have allowed me to complete the bulk of my associates degree with online classes.

Academic Experience: Texarkana College is an community based college, therefore there isnt much offered. It is a good school to start at because it is local and has cheaper tuition but i want to go to a college where more is offered.
