3 College Senior

Campus Dining: The hours sometimes do not coincide with late classes

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I love fried chicken wednesdays

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: I just wish there were at lease some more or better options. We can't use our meal plan off campus like other near by schools so our choices are very slim.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The reason why it's great because I love Chick-Fil-A

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: It's fine, probably would be better with more variety.

The food on campus is mediocre at best. There are meal plans available to students who live on campus, but it is a generic menu every day. Each meal consists of a meat and two vegetables, but TSU students love their junk food, so the cafeteria is the least popular place on campus for students to eat. Another drawback of the cafeteria, other than the food, is the hours of operation. College students are known for pulling long hours, and it closes at 7 p.m. through the week, which forces students to go elsewhere for food. Freshmen are required to have a meal plan, and usually that’s about all it takes for them to realize there is better food available.

Students’ options are limited, especially those who are on special diets, because this is a Southern school, and therefore, greasy food is in! Soul food and junk food are the most popular diets, but the cafeteria really tries to serve well-balanced meals, as they should. The other eateries on campus are fairly good, such as the on-campus sports restaurant, Sports Zone, but generally you are still limited to a daily menu without promise of change. The dining hall is very comfortable during cold weather; however, eating in the dining halls gets very boring after awhile, and you’ll soon be running out to local fast food restaurants.
