5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Close to class, safe, spacious, and affordable. The buildings have a beautiful old style on the outside and a clean current style inside.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: I have never used the transportation offered at the school. However, I have witnessed others use it and they seem pleased with the experience.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The homes in the area are reasonably priced and are normally clean. Most of the neighborhoods are safe and accepting of college students. There are even apartments where you can board your horse.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The small town atmosphere creates a sense of belonging even for the out of town student. The area may not offer the best shopping opportunities but you can buy some pretty cute stuff in the University book store and there is always the internet. The locals are supportive and everyone waves at you. The cost of living is low compared to other areas and the homes available are aesthetically pleasing in most cases.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are plenty of computers and computer labs all over campus, not just in the library. They are very efficient and open to everyone.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The only thing that is fairly strict on this campus would have to be the cops that are lurking around campus late at night looking for the drunks. Even then, they are still nice and understanding.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The class ratio for teacher to student is a lot smaller, so that gives professors a chance to know you on a personal basis. The school offers many centers that will help you on the subjects you need, like the writing center, SI for math, biology, etc.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Our school is very diverse. We have all diversity as to ethnicity and political stand point! No one is criticized on there politicial believes and ethnicity

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is crazy!!! It's either freezing or hot! But sometimes classes are canceled

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It's common sense you know what you should and shouldn't do

5 College Freshman

Academics: The student teacher ratio is 1 to 19. So that is pretty amazing

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It's pretty good my friend lives off campus and her place is pretty nice

College Freshman

Drug Safety: There really are no drugs I have never heard of anyone doing them

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: You don't really see the Greeks around too much

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Everything is so close within walking distance and it's so easy just to get up and go to class whenever you feel like it! And you make so many new friends living so close to each other.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Tarleton is very bad. Students and teachers come to classes hung over all the time. It is ridiculous and in my opinion unacceptable.

3 College Student

Academics: The professors here know their stuff. Some of the teaching strategies are a little strange and hard to follow, some try to cram too much at one time, but they all try very hard at what they are teaching.

3 College Student

Weather: The weather is mediocre in Stephenville. But its not only Stephenville, it's just Texas weather. It's bipolar...

4 College Student

Athletics: Tarleton athletics plays an important role on campus. The fan support and school spirit is amazing. Both the football stadium and Basketball gym are a little small for the amount of people at the games.

3 College Student

Greek Life: Tarleton's campus population is close to 16% Greeks. As a non-Greek I do not thinking they are bad. I do think they need some guidance in their decision, but not all of them are bad. They do a lot of good things around campus and for the most part are very nice. I do not know about available housing for the Greeks.

5 College Student

Majors: Getting into my major program was easy. I knew exactly what I wanted to major in and Tarleton had it.

5 College Student

Majors: My school program is amazing. I enjoy learning new things everyday. Horticulture is not a stressful major and does not have an outrageous workload. Our horticulture center could use some much needed improvements, but it will do until a new one is built. There are many job opportunities for anybody majoring in Horticulture, it just depends what they specifically want to do.

3 College Student

Local Atmosphere: There is not much for college students to do in Stephenville, especially on the weekends.

2 College Student

Scholarships: The financial aid office is very difficult to deal with. They do not let most of the students know when deadlines are and are not very helpful when questions are asked.

2 College Student

Nightlife: I know the bar scene on Tuesdays and Thursdays is the worst here, at Tarleton, but I do not know what goes on at these events. I do know there is an organization called TAT that gives free rides to people who have been drinking and are unable to drive home. The latest I stay out is 10 at night because I do not have anything to do past then but sleep.
