Academic Experience: I am obtaining my AA right, then , I will continue there but under Gardner Webb for my BA. There are not too many classes for higher psychology and human services available. The workload is good and we can establish a great schedule accessible for each individual need.

Academic Experience: The professors are so willing to give extra assistance when students need it. I give high appraisal to Instructor Karl Bretz, Mrs. Hudson and Tracey Haymore for their devotion to us. The registration process is not hectic but fairly easy. When I needed academic help, it was there and my tutors helped me learn and I not only passed but obtained "B" in those subjects.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Sometimes it is hard to sign up for a class that you need that doesnt conflict with another class. There is always the online option though

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: They do a good job of keeping you on track academically

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The school has great professors and has the degree that I wanted my favorite experience was taking the TEAS.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I was scared to take an online class at first, but now that I have its okay.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are several resources, but I say that it is okay because sometimes they are kind of hard to find.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are computer labs, library and wireless access that work great.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid does a good job of informing about financial aid and tuition isn't too bad.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body at Surry is very diverse there are atheists, baptist, catholics, and gay and straight people at surry.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The work isn't really hard its just tedious and quick

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The Nursing and Criminal Justice programs are real prominent at Surry and welding is improving, but still most everybody is in Nursing or Criminal Justice.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: The best word to describe the students at my school is uninvolved. Most of the students are there to learn, and go home. There aren't many activities for students, so there isn't much interaction between us. Occasionally I'll see a friend of mine and say "hello," but for the most part the students stay to themselves. I don't think I fit in very well at my school. The majority of people who go there are older than I am. The people who are my age aren't really interested in the things I'm interested in, which makes it harder to get to know people.

Campus Resources: The library is set up well. There is a large variety of books available for students to use. They also have popular movies and audiobooks. Computers are set up throughout the library to provide students with internet access. You have to pay to print anything in the library. There aren't very many campus activities available to students. When activities are scheduled, it's hard to find out about them. Communication between the school and students isn't great. It's hard to find out information, even when you ask a teacher.

Campus Resources: There are many computer labs available throughout the school. Computers are in almost every building. Printing on campus is great, if you can find a teacher to let you print in their room. Then you can print for free. Otherwise, you have to print from the library, or a public printer, which costs money. That's the worst thing about paying to print is that you have to make an account and set it up to a debit or credit card. The network is normally pretty reliable; however, it does run slow most of the time.

Academic Flexibility: When I first started at Surry Community College, I had a difficult time scheduling my classes. It's gotten easier with time and I find it very simple now. I like how easy it is to schedule classes. The only problem I have with scheduling is that we have to meet with our advisor to get them to unlock the system for us. It's hard to do that since my advisor has class most of the day and is rarely there when I get out of class. When I went to her and told her I was wanting to transfer, she seemed annoyed by me. Since then, I haven't wanted to talk to her. I've found someone else to advise me instead of her. I haven't had to transfer any credits yet because I'm a first year student and I'm waiting to transfer to a university.
