College Freshman

Nightlife: I'm not sure, I don't party

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: UB always has some kind of event going on and if it's not something you are interested in, there are plenty of activities to do off campus.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: UB is extremely diverse which is one of the perks to attending.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Some teachers don't really care

5 College Freshman

Computers: Printing takes a while, and wi-fi may lag some days, but overall technology is good.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Classes that are general requirements are not taught to the best extent.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I haven't reached the point i my education where I can do an internship, but UB is really good about helping you find one.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I am not involved in sports, but the school and teams do a good job making everyone aware of upcoming events so everyone has a chance to get involved.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Any questions I may have regarding financial aid, I get answered almost immediately.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: You often hear about how students have been doing drugs or how amazing the party was.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I have never go to any party or club at school.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I do see students who smoke on campus. I don't like people smoking.

Drug Safety: I only see beer bottles once.

Campus Housing: living in dorm is definitely convenient and good for students to become sociable. however, the cost is really high so that i chose to live off campus.

Off-Campus Housing: I have some knowledge about Buffalo City

College Student

Nightlife: I didn't attend the University at Buffalo yet. But I am going to, since I made my deposit. Hope everything is good.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The location of the campus makes it difficult to fully experience everything Buffalo has to offer.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus and shuttle schedule is unevenly run. Buses regularly take students from one set of dorms to major points. However, at my set of the dorms which is an equally long distance from certain parts of the academic buildings, buses seldom come on time, and not nearly as often as other buses used for dorms.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: A wide variety of athletics are available and are satisfactory for almost all involved.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The school is surprisingly outdated in the dorms whereas the school and academic buildings are all well maintained. The dorms however are old, the walls bow in and out, the walls are paper thin, paint is chipping from the walls and doors, the floors are in poor torn up condition, cleanliness with the cleaning staff is not satisfactoy in any way shape or form. The bathrooms have the same dirt and spots that have been there for a week or greater. Things spilled in the stairs and walkways in the dorms have not been cleaned in over 3 weeks.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The options are all pretty solid, it's however mildly difficult to get onto the campus quickly without a bicycle or vehicle.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The usage of drugs and alcohol is well monitored. Many of the students partaking are relatively stealthy and the enforcement

of any sort of issues is always handled promptly.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I love my program, it has exactly what I thought it would and it also has a large amount of classes which interest me.

From the overwhelmingly diverse campus culture to the odd architecture, UB takes some getting used to. But nearly all students say they've gotten a lot out of their four (or five, or six) years here, and many simply love the place. There are some institutional problems that get people down: administrative hassles, bland campus food, and rotten parking. The decentralized campus can lead to a diminished feeling of community. And the weather is a challenge to the spirit. But UB's modern facilities and world-class computer network get high marks, and most UB students grow to appreciate the great academics, the friendly people, and Buffalo's high quality of life.

UB has a great college experience waiting, but instead of gently offering it to you, it challenges you to "come and get it." If you're not intimidated by the diversity and the sprawling campus and if you get involved, you'll have an eclectic and inspirational experience. Students say UB is no utopia, but it's a lot of fun. And when it's over, nearly everyone remembers it fondly.
