Off-Campus Dining: Around campus there are a lot of dining areas that give you discounts. I like to go out to Port Jeff and eat around there and then walk around it is just beautiful. Food is good, and the town is great!

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many places that cater to students of various backgrounds and health needs. There tends to be more Asian cuisine , Latin food and fast food chains . There is something for almost everyone.

Off-Campus Dining: TONS of chinese delivery places, plenty of pizza places, even some knockoff mexican food. All decently cheap and ALL of them offer usually a 10% student discount for showing your ID.

Because of the immense diversity of SBU, food of every ethnic origin is available in the surrounding areas of Stony Brook, from exotic Thai and Indian restaurants to the good `ol American burger. Students love enjoying a thick, juicy steak at J&R's, or just shooting the breeze at Applebee's after class (indulging in the half-priced appetizers) when faced with the harsh reality of the food served in the dorms. Zorba the Greek offers the best gyros outside of Greece. The Cosmos Café and Dunkin Donuts are located right across the street from the North P Lot, and are great places to sit and relax for a while. If one ventures down into Port Jefferson, anything is possible, from exquisite fine dining, to the run of the mill fast food restaurant, especially along Route 25A.

Like most things in Stony Brook, a car is required to get to all of these good places, because they can be quite a trek. However, by car, it's just a few short miles, and it's totally worth it for all the delicious delicacies and range of restaurant choices.
