Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition process has been smooth and relatively easy.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is pretty low and I think i'm getting my moneys worth at least this semester. You really have to hop on classes your first opportunity or you'll be stuck with the last ones and then it'll feel like a waste of time. I don't get financial aid and anyone working in the financial aid and registrars offices are super unhelpful.

Tuition & Financial Aid: For the price, it's a pretty good school, and can't complain. Financial aid has been decent

Tuition & Financial Aid: The employees in the financial aid office are VERY helpful and sympathetic to situation. However, the education here is base line, as an intelligent student I do feel like i am being jipped because the professor dumb down the material as much as possible. I think this mostly has to do with the student base that attends the school. Resources at the school like materials for science labs and computers are scarce, they are the only college that i have ever been to without a free fitness facility for the students and there are so few clubs and sports its unbelievable. Still you dont have to pay for a parking permit and the campus staff are friendly and helpful. So as far as being worth my money, I paid less to go to a community college in Rochester and had more money left over to pay for my books plus had much more offered to me on campus and a much more satisfying education, and therefore i dont feel like i am truly getting my money's worth at SCCC but they are a great school for someone struggling in life and trying to get back into the grove of school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: the financial aid office at this school is the absolute worst. they will do everything in their power to prevent u from having any sort of financial aid. this past year they took my aid away because i was taking a course called understanding operating systems, for my computer science degree, and they said that the class will not fulfill a degree requirement so they froze my account so i could not get books and i could not attend classes. this system at this college needs to be fixed and i am not the only one affected, a good deal of my friends have had this same problem and so has my girlfriend. i would advise that any new student looking at Schenectady county community college should look at other schools just because of this department. the other departments in the school don't even like the financial aid department and i have herd them say "our school has a bad wrap because of financial aid." that is a direct quote from someone in the registration office. there is no communication going on in that office, i had to have my adviser send an e-mail 3 times to the financial aid office just so they would unfreeze my account because i needed to add a major.
