Overall Experience: I am not a huge fan of SCCC, the faculty outside of the chefs are very unhelpful and don't really want to try to help. I'm really only going here because I've heard going things about the culinary program but mostly I'm going so I can save money before I transfer to a larger school.

Career Services: Haven't looked into this stuff

Academic Flexibility: As far as scheduling classes goes, flexibility is great. I signed up late for my classes and I talked to the dean and he helped me get into all the classes I needed in order to get my credits in for the semester. SCCC really sucks at handling credits that are transferred., everyone has had problems with it and I'm still dealing with credits I need to be transferred from last year. It's really a pain, and no one seems to be organized.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is pretty low and I think i'm getting my moneys worth at least this semester. You really have to hop on classes your first opportunity or you'll be stuck with the last ones and then it'll feel like a waste of time. I don't get financial aid and anyone working in the financial aid and registrars offices are super unhelpful.

Academic Experience: I love all of my culinary classes, but most of my gen ed classes are pretty terrible. Every gen ed class I've taken (intro to hospitality, human resources, nutrition etc.) Have been taught by teachers who don't really know how to teach a class effectively and don't necessarily know what their doing. Any class outside of those I've had an amazing time in and I've truly learned a lot.

Academic Experience: I love being a culinary major. I've really learned a lot in my lab classes, and its interesting to work with people from all different experiences with food. I'll have classes with people that have worked in restaurants for years and then with people that don't even know how to cook pasta. It's definitely an interesting environment, but no matter who you are everyone is given a chance to shine and everyone is really there to learn.

Online Courses: I haven't personally taken any online courses, but from what I've heard, the SCCC website always crashes, and a lot of the time online quizzes or homework assignments won't go through because of the faulty network.

Campus Resources: We have a small library with computers and printers, and most of my teachers are always available either through ANGEL or out of class time to help. But I've also had encounters with teachers and many faculty members that aren't very willing to help the students, or don't really know what their doing.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I don't use the computers at the school very often because I have my own laptop. The wifi is alright, it can get pretty slow on days when there are a lot of people using their laptops in the lobby.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: I don't interact too much with many of the others students that are outside of the Culinary section of the school. No one really goes out of their way to be friendly or introduce themselves, and I think a big part of that is the lack of clubs and activities that get students involved with each other and get them out of their comfort zone.

Student Body: Wouldn't know, no one talks to me.

Overall Experience: The classes are good, but they need to make sure to put classes in rooms with the proper amount of seating. The school is okay so far. If they didn't have the program I wanted, though, I probably wouldn't come here.

Tuition & Financial Aid: For the price, it's a pretty good school, and can't complain. Financial aid has been decent

Facilities: There needs to be more places for people to go and sit when they're eating, in between classes, etc. It's so hard to find a spot.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: Have not taken online courses

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: All seem good, access to laptops/computers, printing is free atm, haven't used wireless

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Library is tinier than expected, the hours suck.

College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Have only been at this school a couple weeks, but there's only one course related to my major, which is kind of a bummer.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: It seems easy enough to get the classes you want when you want.

College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven't used them so I'm not sure.

College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I really havent had much experience with this. I registered for classes late so I cannot comment on the flexibility of curriculum because

Tuition & Financial Aid: The employees in the financial aid office are VERY helpful and sympathetic to situation. However, the education here is base line, as an intelligent student I do feel like i am being jipped because the professor dumb down the material as much as possible. I think this mostly has to do with the student base that attends the school. Resources at the school like materials for science labs and computers are scarce, they are the only college that i have ever been to without a free fitness facility for the students and there are so few clubs and sports its unbelievable. Still you dont have to pay for a parking permit and the campus staff are friendly and helpful. So as far as being worth my money, I paid less to go to a community college in Rochester and had more money left over to pay for my books plus had much more offered to me on campus and a much more satisfying education, and therefore i dont feel like i am truly getting my money's worth at SCCC but they are a great school for someone struggling in life and trying to get back into the grove of school.

Campus Resources: my advise don't use the wireless internet you would get an e-mail faster if u sent it by snail. on the wired internet on the school computers is fine but the wireless is awefull.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: ok lets be honest its bad. We have one basketball team but no basketball court. We also have a mascott which, having been attending this school for two years, I've never seen. there is one library which has two small floors and one computer lab on the fifth floor which maybe has 50 computers in it in total.

College Senior

Overall Experience: my overall experience with this school has been good for the most part. the students and the teachers are great and the advisers are all nice. the only problem with this school is financial aid, because they have no idea what they are doing. so out of 10 i would rate SCCC a solid 7 not bad but good. it has been a long road for me and i feel that SCCC is a good restart and they really have gotten me on the right path and headed in the right direction with my career and my life.
