4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone is generally very friendly. Drama is very rare on this campus

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our teams are not the greatest, but the support from the fans is phenominal

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm planning on transferring because I don't like the location of the college, but there's a lot of really nice people here and certain programs are amazing. If this school was somewhere warm I would never want to leave.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Clarkston is nearby but we don't interact too much. Potsdam is gorgeous in the fall, and there's a lot of different scenic hiking paths people can take that are fun. Market Street is fun to walk down, and the new froyo place is really good.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: We're not #1 in SUNY dining for nothing. There's tons of options and you're never bored with the food. Sometimes Lehman can be sketchy, but their pasta is amazing.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The members of the Greek system are all relatively very nice. Lots of fraternities throw parties, but other than that Greek life is just kinda there, it doesn't effect people.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I lived in Knowles my first year and the rooms are big and make you feel at home. They don't feel extremely clean though, and the bathrooms are absolutely horrendous. The janitors rarely actually clean, and the soap dispensers are usually empty and the showers are gross. It's a good place to live if you're in crane, but if not go to Bowman.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: There are two gyms on campus; one in Maxcy which most people use, and one in Lehman for residents of that hall. Maxcy could use some more ellipticals and treadmills but other than that it's great. The union is set up really nice and everything is there. There's not that many popular campus events that tie the campus together.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Since we have Crane on campus, we get a lot of musical opportunities other SUNY schools don't.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: It takes about a week or so to get into student health, which is a hassle when you're sick and need help right away.

Campus Police are usually driving around and come into the dorms whenever there's problems, and UP is located really close to all of the dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There's definitely some attractive people, but lots of guys don't want to date in college because they want to focus on school or just have fun, which makes dating hard. The guys on campus are all different looking and acting so you're bound to see someone you like.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: There's not too much racial diversity, it's basically all white people, but there is a lot of diversity with sexual orientation and everyone at this school is unique and diverse even though we're not racially diverse.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Overall, the school policies are very fair and for the most part they are always very strict with parking. Also, they are strict with suspicions on drug usage.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Night life is usually good. I heard that the parties are good and everyone seems to be very satisfied with it. The only thing is, they should provide more for underage nightlife in order to provide any illegal activity.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: For the most part, I am very safe on campus but I feel that some parts of the campus needs better lighting and even where the street side is.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: I do not have a car or use parking at school so I cannot give any personal experience about the parking situation. From what I was told, parking is pretty reasonable.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is great for the most part. I am part of a sorority and I never thought I would ever join one because I thought they were too cliquey and snobby. They are not all bad as people make them see. They do try to give back to the community in anyway they can. My sorority is a national service sorority so we live by service. The try their best to get the campus involve with activities on campus. The greek housing does look very run down, old and looks like it would need to be renovated. Overall, greek life is relatively good.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Financial aid is pretty reasonable

2 College Sophomore

Weather: The weather sucks up here in Potsdam due to the fact that it feels as if winter lasts all year around. It snows all the time and it gets really cold up here but I don't mind it at times. When it snows a lot, it's hard to go places off campus to enjoy yourself because it's cold and too much snow to walk through if you don't have a car. The cab service could get very busy and slow processes down at times too.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Always available in housing and not to difficult to find a place to live and also affordable for most students. More renovation should be considered

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It is alright overall but I wish there was more things to do in terms of activities and attractions. Sometimes it could get extremely boring at school on and off campus and for some people that do not participate in partying. Going to other towns does require to have a vehicle but sometimes it is very hard to find someone with a vehicle to lend you a ride or to provide a ride on your own, especially if you are for NYC where public transportation is always provided, we often don't have cars.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I am pretty sure most of the students does partake in some type of drug of some sort. I noticed that a lot of underaged students drink quite often even people of age. I hear stories of students being extremely intoxicated and practice irrational decisions under the influence. However, drugs are probably used but it is very low key and hidden, so I would never know that any suspicious activities of drug usage is happening. Peer pressure was never a huge concern on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletics here are great but I wish sports are more recognized around our campus. I also wish that the offer more variety of sports such as tennis, football, and track and field. I think this would give students more choices and expand their interests in sports in order to provide more on campus life.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Dining is great!! SO delicious

4 College Senior

Transportation: Almost everything in town is within walking distance. For those places that are a little bit further into town the Potsdam Taxi Service is wonderful.
