With a computer lab in almost every academic building, students can always find available computers on which to work. The labs in Coykendall Science Building and Old Library are furnished with sleek new Mac computers. While computers may be plentiful, there never seem to be enough printers. This can be an issue when students are rushing to print out papers and readings before class, and there are huge lines in front of the printers.
Students should definitely bring their own laptops to school, but they need not lug them around campus; in addition to computers in the labs, the Sojourner Truth Library loans laptops to students. All of the New Paltz academic buildings have Wi-Fi access, so if you do bring your computer with you to class, logging on to the Internet is never a problem. For students living on campus, dorms without wireless access provide Ethernet cables, so students can log into the University's network from pretty much anywhere on campus. Some dorms are also equipped with small computer areas.
