4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I was somewhat apprehensive about going back to school, but the staff and students are making this experience pleasurable.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I started enrollment process late, but the school worked very hard for me in making sure financial aid was granted before the bookstore no longer accepted credits from the financial award.

Academic Flexibility: My car is in need of repairs. My wife works. My Daughter works. We are all sharing 1 car. My daughter has just had my 1st grandchild. if it wasn't for the availability of different course schedules, we would not be able to make things work the way they are at home.

Academic Experience: Vice President Joe Biden visited our Training Facility. I can safely say that his visit has opened many doors for graduates in our program.

Academic Experience: I have been out of school for some time now. Adjusting was the hardest thing to do. The staff made it easy to adjust to scheduling. You are, basically, allowed to create your own schedule. I'm not saying it is easy, it's not easy at all, but the support received makes it a lot easier. It wasn't easy adjusting to the workload, but I am beginning to get into the swing of things. The school offers workshops and tutoring services for those who really need it. I really have nothing to complain about. Everything went accordingly from when I first contacted the school, up to the start of class.

Career Services: I stated okay because I am no tat that point yet. I am in my 3rd week of the 1st semester.

Student Body: I am impressed with Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. I have been out of school a long time and did not know what to expect. College turned out to be a better environment than the outside world. Everyone has a common goal. Everyone is friendly. The Professors are very Knowledgeable and helpful. None of these things I expected. I am happy to say, "I'm glad I decided to go back to school, and am glad I chose this one". I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel that I have no choice but to succeed with friendly, helpful staff and students I have encountered,

Career Services: I regularly visit the transfer and career center. They provide a career library filed with up to date, specific books depending on what career you want to look into. I am not familiar with the alumni network unfortunately.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I don't feel as though I belong here. There are very diverse people on the campus, but I feel as though everyone mainly minds their own business and goes about there day. I have gone out of my way to make friends and it feels like nobody has any interest. My first semester I had 3 people I met and kept in contact with outside of classes. I feel as though there is a large population of rude and disrespectful students here, unfortunately.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I think the flexibility is great! They offer a lot of different days and class times which is nice because I work 2 jobs on top of being a full time student. I am able to make a decent schedule considering I try to make 2 or 3 "light" days so I can work on studying or working!

4 College Junior

Facilities: They do a lot of campus activities...both that are open to all students and strictly residents. I notice they take a lot of time and effort to make sure there is always something to look forward to every week. They will advertise major events often on the website and on the campus, sometimes also sending emails!

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: They have a Learning Center in one of the buildings that has great operating hours throughout the week. They offer many resources for helping with studying, tests, books...Monroe Community College also offers an indoor turf, pool and multiple gyms to those that would like to use them. All you need is an ID card and to go at appropriate times! For the residence life, they always run activities on a regular basis, especially during the first week of the Fall/Spring semester!

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: They offer wireless for the campus and the residence halls separately. They also provide computer labs, computers in the library and many printers to use. The network has never gone out for me for very long, they are always on top of things. I have a personal computer with me at school and my dorm shares a printer!

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am a liberal arts heath related major because I didn't want to commit to the Nursing program here because I knew I would want to transfer. My classes have been mainly general pre-requisites...general studies with pretty large class sizes.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have been lucky and had some wonderful professors. The class registration was easy, there are many people available here to help. I find I have a steady workload. Sometimes I have had professors throw a lot at me and give dates but for the most part, they are very understanding and always willing to help in any way they can.

Overall Experience: I am making the most of being here, but I have decided I want to transfer next fall to a college out of state. I find that being away from home makes me more independent. I feel inspired to work harder, to become my own person. My school does a great job, don't get me wrong. But I don't feel like being here is for me. If I could go back a year and tell myself to be brave and go farther away, I would. I want the experience away from home. I am so close and I feel as though I am not compelled or inspired enough to work harder. I want to have a new, fun experience away from home.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe my schools tuition and financial aid process is efficient, easy, and very well run. I believe I am getting my money's worth education wise, but I want a new experience. I am close to home and I find myself wanting to go farther away to become more independent. I want to use this opportunity to go somewhere new, so I can be inspired to work harder. One tip I would tell people for getting financial aid help is to find somebody to hire to help you...I hired someone whos job was specifically to help file financial aid and she was wonderful.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: So far I have not had any problems with schedule conflicts.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: So far, I love my major. I am more excited to transfer to a 4 year college to start getting more in depth.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are honors clubs, and honors classes which allow me to challenge myself more.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have received minimum financial aid, when it is actually needed.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Monroe Community College is more of a commuting school, so many people don't get involved.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: Had one course online however professor was not good

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: My education teachers are the best

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: The classes are great and the teachers help
