4 College Senior

Overall Experience: It has been a blast and as a returning adult student, I have had nothing but a great time, learning new things and challenging myself to the fullest.

Online Courses: I have had no problems with any of my online courses except for one, and I feel that it should have called for a night time lab also at the college if possible, but other than that all is well with my online courses and have learned a great deal.

Academic Flexibility: Since I am a returning adult student, it has been a wonderful, challenging experience. All credits that where able to be transferred or subbed for other courses I am taking, have been accounted for and I am pleased with it very much.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I feel that my courses that I am taking are tailored to my specific degree program and will be a benefit in my career change.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: All the staff here or for the most part are very helpful, respectful and knowledgable in there teaching skills.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid has been so helpful these past years, but since the upgrade of the school fitness center and online courses, it has raised tuition immensely, which is one of the reasons I personally am out of my lifetimes worth of any financial aid. They have financial aid advisors who are very smart and will help you in any way they possibly can.

Student Body: Here in the Utica campus and in Utica in general we have a very diverse ethnic group of families and children and adults from all over the world whom I have met and learned so much about. That's what I think makes MVCC Utica, a very unique community college. I feel that this college has a great student body due to the fact that there is an ever growing population of diversity. We have the DGV Program that all students are required to take in order to graduate, and it is based on diversity and globalization. Which in our times now, is very important, I feel.

Campus Resources: It has all brand new up to date computers and software, especially in the trades and sciences. Plenty of computer labs throughout the campus. Printers are in every lab and room with computers and we are being pushed to go green by a lot of our teachers and advisers. Which I personally think is a great idea and it will help in saving the planet, even if just a little.

Campus Resources: I can say that this college has been updated with state of the art equipment as fitness center, library, computer labs, and plenty of campus organizations to get involved in. Especially for us returning adult students, which has the RASA (Returning Adult Students Association) which I played a part in getting started and has since been growing and a great outlet of information on how to deal with stress and the college experience after a certain age.

Facilities: I feel this community college is very unique to other community colleges in the outlying counties, in that it has brand new computers, state of the art fitness center, pool, and gym, track etc. It has a great learning center to help achieve and understand certain material that I need to take for my course study, and the advisors there make me challenge myself to achieve my goals, especially in the area of mathematics and English.

Career Services: I have been a student at MVCC Utica, New York (SUNY), since 2007 and earned my first Associates Degree in A/C Tech in Spring 2011, with which I was a Returning Adult Student and was having a hard time in my mathematics at the start, but I have since went on, with the dedication of certain staff, the learning center, and the disabilities program they have here, to be able to earn my Associates Degree and learn certain mathematics that will apply to my new career change, and made me learn to challenge myself at everything I do. I was so into learning by the time I graduated that I went on for another Associate's Degree which I have since applied myself and again with the help of certain staff and all the centers for help I mentioned above, have molded me into a model student, who has achieved the Deans list two semesters in a row and I have two classes left without any Federal Aid or support for the classes I need to graduate, which are only running online this summer 2014. I would be so grateful to be awarded this scholarship in helping me to advance my career and achieve my goals in life for my future and my child's future. Thank You For Your Support and opportunity to hopefully be accepted for said scholarship.

Campus Resources: Ok i guess, i dont use it much. So i could care less.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I havnt been there yet. But the program I am in has a high placement. It also has a high accomplishment of passing all 3 FAA tests.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: I havnt had to take many classes on line so. I really cant say too much. Compared to another school in the area. This school beats it.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Intense learning a whole range of sciences. But Having it all under one roof. Makes it a helluvalot easier. Not to mention you dont have to trek all over campus to find your teachers. there all in one building.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class registration was good, because after that we had to go and meet our program director. Kind of like an interview and we got shown all aspects of the class that we were gonna take.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I dont know. Some may think its full of rainbows and unicorns. That everything magically opens when you start school. Its not that way. its the begining of the journey.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Didnt realize the tools and books were not included in the certificate program. Not to mention You got to pay to buy shop shirts. which you could by at a local store for way cheaper.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Depends on who you work with and talk to there. Its based on what you need and who your willing to talk too.

3 College Junior

Facilities: The have one of the few A&P programs around and by using this you can get a good job. The instructors there are very knowledgeble.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have had the best time here at MVCC because I understand the material, the teachers are great, etc. My favorite experiences here at school are being a voting member of Student Congress, the observations for my education classes, etc.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I do not really know what the online courses are like here at MVCC because I never did online classes. I do better academically if I am in a classroom setting.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I have gone to other colleges, and they are no where as great as MVCC. I started college in WI at Moraine Park Technical College was okay, but I did not fit in. I feel like I fit in here at MVCC because I have a lot of friends here, and it is a comfort zone for me because my parents and aunts went here. It is pretty easy for students who do the work to the best of their abilities to pass the courses here.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The professors here are amazing at what they do. The curriculum is easy if students do the work to the best of their abilities. Class registration is pretty straight forward. It is easy to schedule classes here at MVCC right on the website or at the computers here on campus. The workload is manageable if you manage your homework and study time well.
