4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The nursing program has little flexibility in the scheduling of classes, I know that this is difficult for some, but I have not personally experienced a problem with it.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The faculty of the nursing program so far have been overall really great. 90% of the professors are really outstanding and willing to help you succeed.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am in the nursing program. The workload and curriculum is heavy and challenging, but manageable and rewarding if you work hard.

4 College Junior

Career Services: I have used the career center and I have found them very helpful.

Campus Resources: Campus activities are above average, there are many activities offered through school for free that a student should take advantage of.

Student Body: The student body seems very diverse and there are a lot of programs to help students network and meet others with similar interests and goals.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses while at Farmingdale. However, I do have friends who have and they speak well of their experience.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The value of education a student gets here is WELL worth the tuition that is paid.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The nursing program faculty is incredible. You are valued as an individual. The faculty are very helpful and eager to see you succeed.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The career center is very helpful. The staff can help you with your resume and have even practiced doing mock interviews with me.

Overall Experience: I think farming dale is a great school with very helpful teachers. The small class sizes are very helpful to students, and the amount of hands on activities are even more helpful and prepare us for real world jobs. The guidance counselors are helpful and caring and take great interest in your career. I would choose this school again, although i do wish that they had better class times and options.

5 College Junior

Career Services: I have never used the career center but the professors are extremely interested and helpful in providing guidance to a career. Many of them send e-mails and notify classes of possible local internships and jobs. Farmingdale sends out e-mails to the entire student body that always include local job offerings as well as holding many job fairs.

Student Body: The student body is very diverse and friendly.

Academic Flexibility: It is extremely difficult to schedule classes back to back in order to compress your schedule and make it easy to work around. Many of the classes are in the middle of the day rather than in the mornings or nights making it hard to work around. Although their are many classes to choose from there are not many different times given for each class making options very limited.

Online Courses: There are not many online courses offered applicable to an architectural engineering field. I have taken two classes and found it extremely deterring to my education, as I did not learn as much as i would have in a classroom. The teachers are fair in grading and workload but it is harder to grasp concepts over the internet without someone there to explain them. When contacting the professors a helpful e-mail was always received immediately.

Campus Resources: There are many resources on the campus, many of which are being updated. Others like the library are old and not aesthetically pleasing, but are decent enough and provide enough seating and books to study. There are many campus activities and clubs that meet for each field. The campus itself is old but continuously being updated and is easy to navigate.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Class size is small and personal. The teachers are great and helpful especially in the architectural engineering field. The courses seem helpful and applicable to real world situations and many of the courses are hands on rather than learning from a textbook. There are many courses offered, but not many different times for each course making scheduling difficult. Many of the classes take place in the middle of the day for 3 to 5 hours a day making it extremely difficult to find work hours around.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Farmingdale sends out e-mails weekly with internships and local job opportunities. Professors in the field often tell their classes about local opportunities. Many professors often work outside of the college and know a large amount of people actively in the field giving us a greater opportunity to immerse ourselves in our fields.

Tuition & Financial Aid: SUNY Farmingdale has reasonable tuition, some fees for commuters who normally do not participate in any of the school activities are a little pricey and unfair. One Summer class is much more expensive than a semester full of five classes.

College Junior

Online Courses: have not taken online course

College Sophomore

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses.

Student Body: For the most part, the students that I work with seem to be very driven to better themselves.

Campus Resources: The administration seems very welcoming and warm. They also are very accommodating towards their Military Veteran students.

Tuition & Financial Aid: While there are times that I feel the extra fees are a bit much, as I don't use the services that they are paid with, I find that it is an acceptable payout for those that do use them. It helps to keep those services open and up to date.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: As I work full time during the day, I attend class at night. So far, the only negative feeling I have from my time at Farmingdale, is that there are not more assessment offered at night that are offered during the day.
