Online Courses: For me, taking an online English course was very convenient. It meant that I didn't have to find more time to spend on campus on top of the multiple labs I am taking. The workload can seem like a lot at time but the way my professor runs it is that we have the whole week to write responses to stories on a discussion board and can communicate with other students about the assignments as well.

Facilities: Our library is pretty sizable at south campus. I like that there are nooks and crannies that I can have to myself and that they have a part of the library that's specifically for quiet studying.

Overall Experience: ECC is definitely not my favorite place in the world. However, they do have things that make it as enjoyable as it can be for being a community college. One thing that I really love is my introduction to all the Honors activities. In a few short months I received all sorts of invitations to various organizations such as the area chapter for Phi Theta Kappa. Another thing that all students love is free food days run by the Student Government Association. I especially love it because I have three hour long labs so that when I go on break, I can run down to the cafeteria to pick up a sweet treat or an ethnic meal.

Student Body: Some students come to school to be on the sports teams and then they believe that they are higher on the totem pole than everyone else. Just the other day I witnessed some athletics students just taking things they shouldn't have taken and then not being properly reprimanded or put in their place just because they are who they are. The student body is very diverse in that we have adult learners, as well as people fresh out of high school. I would not say that diversity isn't accepted at this school just because the average student is a total melting pot. In my particular program, we all seem to get along very well. The majority of the students have similar musical, art, and activity taste.

Academic Experience: What I do love about my program is the ability to be hands on in almost every class, every time we meet. I would find it much harder to maintain the grades I do if I were required to have to watch someone complete tasks in lectures and be graded on a process instead of being able to complete them myself and graded on my own completion of a process.

Academic Experience: The problem with my major, as it is technical, is that some of the professors are very good at the work required in the field, but unable to properly teach the information to students. This is not true for all professors, and I don't find the other professors as difficult to understand, but some students are really struggling in the class only because the teacher over or under explains a topic.

Career Services: I haven't been able to involve myself with the career services at my school so far since I am only in my second semester of my freshman year. By next year, I will have been in contact with the career service center and be completing an internship, so my opinion will be of value.

Academic Flexibility: When scheduling for the spring semester this year, I was looking into receiving AP credit for some classes so I had fewer electives to worry about for my major. I went through the motions of applying for credits and the whole process was able to be completed in a short two days. I know have two classes out of the way, and recorded on my transcript.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I do believe that I am getting what I paid for at ECC. I also believe that working with the financial aid office is easy and they definitely do what they can to help you the best that they can. It might take a few phone calls to get where you need to be, and because the majority of the school's staff is part time, they might not always be available, but there's always someone who can help. In my personal experience, I was able to split a scholarship between two semesters so that I could still receive my financial aid and be able to pay for two semesters myself instead of just one.

Student Body: In the school you will see many diverse groups, Caucasian, African American, Asian, etc. The school is also very accommodating to those with handicaps so many people along those lines come to the college as well. I do not see any problems with the mix of students with one another as well. All in all, it appears to be a very typical, and non hostile environment.

Overall Experience: I love the interaction in class rooms with professors and the ability to have a name rather than be just a face in a crowd. The help I get from being able to concentrate in a smaller setting is practical and very satisfying experience. Combine this with an affordable bill, and this educational experience has been good to me so far.

Campus Resources: I do not use the other buildings.

Academic Experience: For the most part, the professors are incredibly knowledgeable. They are approachable, often times friendly, and will work to help you understand core concepts in the course. In the general sciences program I am enrolled in, the professors all have office hours and are more than happy to accommodate you when you have questions outside the classroom. The professors also tend to speak to one another so they can help their labs more digestible so they're not time consuming and spend too much time teaching what you've already learned in one or the other.

Academic Experience: Academically I chose this institution because it had more to offer than other places around here. The professors as I mentioned are very informed and helpful, often noting that if students have troubles to visit their offices or seek tutoring help. The curriculum is very straight forward and works to enforce the core concepts so that learning is easy, fun, and also interesting. Class registration is easy as well, you can go online and sign up, seek an adviser, or go to the student services office and pick up an enrollment form. Workload varies from professor to professor, as long as you keep your social life in control and study, then it is not as hard as it could be. I find the work to very helpful while learning and studying.

Career Services: I have not used their career services as I feel I do not need that guidance.

Online Courses: I haven't taken online courses but have worked with online programs that professors grade as part of a class that exists. These are helpful but they're often time consuming when multiple professors prefer to use this method.

Facilities: The architecture of the school is very old and almost reminds me of a high school. The setup is easy to understand which comes in handy when determining where your class is. It's essentially a get what you pay for kind of experience, the classrooms are great for student/professor interaction as they're smaller rooms with a low number of students per class. However; it's quite dank and the labs are most definitely out of date for the science department. There are insufficient amount of hood vents in the chemistry lab for students making waiting periods constant, the supplies are all crusted with chemicals and no one really takes care of their station/table top. In the biology end, things are better but the tools they use for dissections are quite old school and tend to be hit or miss as well.

Academic Flexibility: I have found that making a schedule at this school is very flexible and easy. There are a handful of times you can choose to make the courses work with one another, and a fair amount of faculty to teach if you prefer one professor over another. The language and code of conduct within classrooms are all spelled out to help you understand expectations and what is going to be occurring in future lectures. While transferring my credits from a 4 year school, I found that many of them were replacing courses I took when applicable; some went towards my major but many were electives and classes I did want to have to take again so that was very fortunate.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition prices I believe to be very reasonable when compared to other universities in the area offering the same level of education. The financial aid process is very easy to complete at this college, although if you hit a snag the help you may get from the Financial Aid Office is hit or miss. The Bursar's Office is very helpful with any issues. It seems as if the people working in the Financial Aid Office are more or less overworked and tend to be much less resolute compared to other institutions I have attended. Upon occasion however; I have also found the office to have one or two people whom are very positive and will help immensely with any questions you're going to ask. The only other issue I have is with the non-privacy of the office, it's an open room and any information put out is essentially there for anyone to hear which is unsettling.
